I have renewed respect for the band. It must have been tremendous to hear that piece of music played live whilst watching the dance and feeling the excitement of the crowd.
On another note: Really interested in the instruments they list on their blog that will be in use this week, as quoted by Henry. I wonder in which number a piccolo flute is used. I would love that one day they allow the band to be the featured musical act rather than inviting guests, many of whom disappoint. I'd love to see them playing a variety of styles and highlighting certain instruments. I was lucky enough to see a live performance of Venetian baroque music this year and the oboe soloist led two of the pieces of music. I love the oboe anyway but it was exquisite to hear in the baroque pieces. May be I should suggest the band as musical guests to the BBC. Perhaps others have done so in the past -? |

They are already being paid so it just needs a a couple of cameras and some editing of wonderful content. It is only 15 to 20 minutes playing time in total and could be a full half hour programme or split across the week with a bit of an introduction on the piece and the instruments. It might even inspire people to become musicians. |

I too have tweeted BBCStrictly and Zoe Ball about getting the band and singers on It Takes Two - sadly no reply but they really should try to feature them at least once...... they are a huge huge part of the show and dont really get the recognition they deserve - they are not even on the BBCStrictly website!
- rather than the usual silly VTs and other faffing around. The SCD Band are much better than most of the "musical" acts on the Sunday show. |

Frankly I'm less concerned with them getting the recognition they deserve then me getting something decent like the SCD Band to watch and hear on television

Or put up a video recording on the website later and also on youtube. The marginal cost to the BBC would be negligible compared to the pleasure it would give - followed by the deserved recognition it would give the band and record sales for the BBC. |

I give you hear - but hardly watch. I hadn't realised it was a 15 pax band. That would be great to see.

The Live Tour is good, the singers actually come onto centre stage and are part of the show |

a webcam would be excellent, would be nice to actually see the band although we can see more of them in Elstree than at the Shepherds Bush studios
The Live Tour is good, the singers actually come onto centre stage and are part of the show However, there wouldn't be the illusion of movement created by the whirling cameras as on SCD on television. Also it is all good fun on TV but I can't see the point of paying to watch amateurs dance when there are plenty of professional dance shows about. Though I'd be very happy to pay to watch the highly professional SCD Band perform without the pro-celebrity dance pairs. |
