Sorry if I send you the B&B PM in error

I was just going by members who have posted in the US soap threads

If you like B&B you can check your PM to see if you have PM from me

Alternatively use the info from the above post that quotes me

Sorry if you get this PM in error and its not of interest to you. Please accept my apologies

In the UK we currently have:

English soaps:

Coronation Street
EastEnders
Emmerdale
Hollyoaks
Family Affairs
English Dramas (also known as soaps)

Casualty
Holby City
The Bill
Scottish soap:

River City
Australian Soaps:

Neighbours
Home & Away
USA Daytime soaps:

Sunset Beach [finish this week 11.02.2005]
General Hospital
USA Primetime Soap:

Desperate Housewives
All the soaps above that are shown in the UK are all different, that why we watch them.

If they were all the same why would be watch them?

As for US soaps, not all of them are camp and OTT.

B&B and Y&R are the #2 and #1 soap in the States. They are not camp and OTT. The storylines are mainly about families and their business and rivalries.

A lot of the other US soaps have OTT storylines, mainly Passions and now Days of our Lives

Just as you can't generalise about UK soaps and say they are all the same

The same thing should not be applied to US soaps.

The channels that do show US daytime soaps, never give them decent timeslot and don't promote them. Thats why the majority of the UK think they are crap.

But if that wasn't the case and you had the choice to watch US soaps in primetime slots and they were promoted, the viewers could make up their own minds.

Thats all I have to say on the matter

I don't want to start a war on UK and US soaps

But we should have the choice to watch US soaps on TV if we want. Thats why I PM many memebers. Thats why the petition was started.

Each to their own
