Mostly agree with you. I don't think shes being 'fake' ...just 'overdoing' it in a way in front of the camera. Last night on it takes two when Zoe was talking with Ian Waite, she had to reach over and tap him on the knee. Its only a small thing, but its an example of what I see constantly with her that just gives me the impression that shes so keen to be part of every conversation, smiling and saying the right thing. Having said that, we all like to be liked and sometimes I think maybe I'm a bit harsh for letting it put me off her, as it may well be coming from a good place, but its just my natural reaction. I don't dislike her, shes just not my favourite. But theres many more that seem to love her persona on camera, and it being an entertainment programme I suppose how you come across on camera has a part to play, and she seems very popular, so probably is playing it right.

Susanna gives me the impression that it's "all about me me me", when, of course, it isn't.

And yet Abbey was saying on ITT how Susanna really helped her by giving her a pep talk. Now if she was over competitive and egocentric I doubt Susanna would have bothered.

Women don't half a hard time on Strictly.

Act confident and assured, it's assumed you're and overly competitive (a'la Gabby, Denise and Natalie) and if you happen to be quite effusive and enthusiastic you're accused of being insincere.

Ain't that the truth!

That's true and their biggest critics are other women!

I like Susanna and can't understand all the talk about her being smug.

She and Kevin have a terrific partnership and I would love to see them in the final.

(In best Father Dougal voice) Careful now. This thread might be moved to the appreciation section as you've posted a positive comment.

This is a forum not a therapy consultation space with little padded rooms. It's so much better for your blood pressure to simply ignore those whose views you dislike than to get all het up about what a total stranger thinks.

Why waste the energy?

The word 'hate' is bandied about far too much. I wonder if everyone even understand the difference between 'hate' and 'dislikes' any more?

I agree, but as Kevin said to her after the Paso on Saturday, no matter what happens now they will never forget that dance & neither will I.

Sometimes it's hard to go against the flow isn't it. I am getting a bit dubious about posting anything too appreciative at the moment as it seems to mean you are breaking a rule that I don't know about.

I don't think it's the rules that are the problem but the enforcement of them, which seems to be mercurial to the point of inequitable. There's lots of theorising about how the BBC manipulates SCD. I'm not with that conspiracy theory I have another one about how the moderation is manipulated.

Some of us Natalie fans know all about that

Watching the training footage today it looks like Kevin over-dancing may be the issue. Which is letting Susanna appear to get away with things other dancers get pulled up on.

It shouldn't be a contest between favourites - everyone is entitled to their own views or opinions, likes or dislikes, or so we keep being told. It's a shame when it spills over into unpleasant comments and remarks and manipulative behaviour.

Me neither - but I suspect for the wrong reasons.

Same here. Wish I could unload the offending 'software residue' in my brain as quickly as I can dump stuff off my laptop

My mother had a 'flamenco' doll when I was young, that sat on the top of the piano. After seeing Susanna in that red dress, I keep having flashbacks. It's like I'm sitting in the front room after Mass with that doll staring at me from its perch.

Because, of course, none of the other professionals ever over dance and act as a distraction, do they? (cough) Ola, (cough, cough) Kristina. Or does it only count when one of the male dancers gets himself noticed?
The judges know which one they're supposed to be looking at and judging by what was going on with those paddles on Saturday night, I'd say Susanna - despite all the 10s - was by no means the most overmarked celeb in the line up.
