I feel the same. I think she struck lucky with Kevin from Grimsby. I also think she's been well over marked several times, and she seems to be Len's favourite.

Interestingly Susanna and Kevin are streets ahead in the poll for favourites.

It was a good dance and it's always great in my book when a dance is presented in a traditional manner with appropriate music. However, for me, it was Kevin who made that dance so special.

I'm fairly sure Susanna was only recently voted favourite BBC Breakfast presenter ever and by quite a margin.

I think she is extremely popular and would have been with any pro. Kevin is doing a great job though.

She is going to be hard to beat in the final IMO.

Absolutely. Susanna is very average.

The public love her that's all that matters, not everyone suffers from JWS.

It takes two to Tango/Paso

Lots of Sophie/Abbey/Nat fans in here I see

It's tough at the top.

I find her just far too aware of the live cameras. You can tell she works with live cameras every day and is aware of when they're on. Especially in the Tesspit, she positions herself to be seen and makes very sincere faces when the red light goes on.

Once you notice it, it's all you can see.

I said this before on a previous anti Susanna thread.

She is a journalist who works in a very eat or be eaten world. Show one sign of weakness & there are 100 younger hungry people waiting to stick the knife in. I think you would find all the BBC news girls would come across in much the same way. Rachel came across as 'sweet' & a bit vulnerable but she is a presenter not a journalist & she wouldn't last five minutes in the atmosphere of a media news room.

Susanna is doing just fine by me, if she protects herself with a bit of a 'fake' shell so be it, I admire her drive & effort. Kevin is putting an enormous amount of faith in her with some of the choreography & she is rewarding him with interest, some of our other pros should take a leaf out of his book.

I like the Kevin/Susanna partnership and I loved the routine last night . I am trying so hard to like her but she just comes across ( to me ) as so fake . My toes curl when she puts on the coy , modest look , it just doesn't look genuine at all .

Yes, she didn't steal any limelight from Kevin.

When the BBC studio was moved to Manchester and she found out that she would be moving there were several articles quoting Sussannah saying how she couldn't possibly live up north even though she could have come back to London for the weekends.
Consequently instead of sleeping in Manchester each evening she commutes to London daily even though she says her children go straight to bed when she gets in and she sets off back to Manchester before they go to school.
Apparently she prefers the daily grind of travelling rather than the much easier option of moving the family up there as most of her co-workers have done.
I wonder how she really feels about being partnered by a person from Grimsby?
She has the unfortunate sneering expression of a total snob when on her breakfast show, her eyes are especially unfriendly and cold. The persona she presents on strictly is of a happy go lucky woman but her eyes are still as cold and calculating as ever.

I've never seen her on anything other than SCD, and am judging her by that alone.

I think there are much better dancers than her in the contest, but I suppose it depends on what people vote for, ability or popularity.

I'm not liking her on SCD, yet I like her on breakfast TV.
Not liking her too - but she can dance, I just can't warm to her.

Never watch Breakfast TV.

I hesitate to ask, but what is JWS?

I think so, Susanna is a threat now. I like Abbey a lot and obviously Natalie is excellent, but IMO Sophie is hugely overrated on this forum. Her Charleston was fabulous, but nothing she's has done since has wowed me in the same way and she doesn't seem to be progressing in the way that others are. In fact sometimes it looks like Brendan is dragging her around the floor.

Never mind, we all like different things though.

I do think she is being promoted as the 'poster girl' for Strictly this year but this may be totally out of her control. Personally I think she is very likeable and her relationship with Kevin is very believable and genuine.
Maybe the Beeb have lined her up for other things as well, we'll probably see her presenting the 'New Year' celebration show.

Jealous Woman Syndrome

Unfortunately a nice easy tag to throw around without any foundation in reality.

That is a particularly nasty post.

Have you considered that she commutes because she has a home & family in London & decided that it's easier to travel herself than disrupt her sons schooling & making her partner change jobs to move North with her. Of course if she had insisted on the whole family uprooting to follow her, then that would have made her equally 'cold & calculating'. She chooses to work but also be there for her sons as much as possible. Something that we should be applauding rather than deriding. She is lucky enough to be able to afford to do all the travelling to see her family daily, something that is important to all parents surely. Most mothers would cut of their right arm to do the right thing by their children & to me that's all that Susanna is doing ie juggling lots of balls in the air rather than making their own life easier.

How can you possibly know what the best option is for Susanna & her family?

Agreed, lots of people decide they do not want to move because of various commitments - children's schools, spouse's work, elderly relative etc. The father of the girl from the Poppy Girls, who appeared at the Albert Hall last week, when not overseas works in Rosyth all week so lives there and travels back to his family for the weekend.

Breakfast TV needs early starts which must be disruptive on the rest of the family - I thought she stayed in Manchester/Salford for several nights a week rather than commuting every day as the poster suggested.

The recent series on a crane company showed quite a few of their staff live in caravans / mobile homes most of the time with their family the other side of the country.
