Susanna is doing just fine by me, if she protects herself with a bit of a 'fake' shell so be it, I admire her drive & effort. Kevin is putting an enormous amount of faith in her with some of the choreography & she is rewarding him with interest, some of our other pros should take a leaf out of his book.
i agree. she is progressing well, week on week, has made a very secure partnership with kevin, and she has so obviously fallen in love with dancing, i find her strictly story really quite appealing. sure, she will never be the best dancer on the planet, or even the show, but thats not what strictly is about. kevin is a great addition to the team as well, i aprticularly loved their waltz and his ballroom credentials are a match to anton's, imo.

I can't take to her either - though I thought last night's paso was very good.

Neither like or dislike her, she doesn't radiate any personality if im been really harsh. She can most deffinately dance but I also think she is over marked most of the time, I like the idea of a traditional paso but realy didn't enjoy hers. She looked too hunched up on the shoulders for my liking. Gave her an odd looking frame.

Jealous Woman Syndrome

Unfortunately a nice easy tag to throw around without any foundation in reality.

I thought it might be something like that. Fits with the mentality of the rest of their post.

especially when much of the antipathetical posting relates to her appearance.

I also don't like or dislike her but I don't like Kevin's dancing.
Lovely guy but not a good dancer.
Seems they are set up for the win now with that impact dance. Loved the traditional style just to Kevin centric for me.

I said this before on a previous anti Susanna thread.

She is a journalist who works in a very eat or be eaten world. Show one sign of weakness & there are 100 younger hungry people waiting to stick the knife in. I think you would find all the BBC news girls would come across in much the same way. Rachel came across as 'sweet' & a bit vulnerable but she is a presenter not a journalist & she wouldn't last five minutes in the atmosphere of a media news room.

All so true. Susanna works in a hot house atmosphere-a man's world where not many women are able to penetrate. Read Ann Robinson's book if you want an idea. Claudia Wilkleman's mum is from the same stable-women who broke through the glass ceiling.

What I find sad is that this is not the first negative thread about Susanna. To my knowledge, I can't remember such like about other celebs apart from one or two.

I teach teens and I would point out Susanna as a role model for girls and steer them away from wanting to be WAGs. I don't mean women like Abby who had a career as a model before anyone busts a gut to shout at me.

Like them both but find them too neat and tidy to thrill me.
Bad that isn't it.
Consistently doing their jobs well, but being cast as just mehh
by some
bummer.

Like them as people though

She's a bit marmite. I'm wary of her but like her dances.

It was a good dance and it's always great in my book when a dance is presented in a traditional manner with appropriate music. However, for me, it was Kevin who made that dance so special.
Agree....Kevin and the music which was fantastic...

I think she's a trooper! She's taken criticism on the chin, unlike some of the more "loveable" contestants, and she's got better and better.

I too was touched that she was overwhelmed by the praise for her paso. She already seemed overwhelmed at the end of her dance, when she stayed on the floor and Kevin looked a bit concerned. I think she whispered something to him and the camera pulled away to an audience shot.

If you think it was all faked - well, you must be in awe of Susanna's acting skills. I doubt Meryl Streep could have brought that off.

There's just something about her.

She seems far too full of herself, far too loud. Overconfident.

And she made me cringe at her reaction when she got those 10's.

I much prefer someone with a bit of modesty like Patrick, who is an equally good dancer, but carries it with a bit more style.
Yes, far too into the style of the USA where they succeed and we fail.

She didn't grab me personality wise early on, but after that mesmerising paso last night (a great collaboration between her and Kevin) I have been won over.

I like Susanna and can understand that others don't but I cannot get my head around the posters who accuse her of all sorts of things which never happened.

What on earth is that all about?

We love Susanna in our household. She's hardworking, lovely and talented. She's really progressed. This discussion looks rather like a Daily Mail 'Knock a successful female' article.

Interestingly Susanna and Kevin are streets ahead in the poll for favourites.

I suspect that it's an anti-natalie vote, making sure she doesn't top the poll.

When the BBC studio was moved to Manchester and she found out that she would be moving there were several articles quoting Sussannah saying how she couldn't possibly live up north even though she could have come back to London for the weekends.
Consequently instead of sleeping in Manchester each evening she commutes to London daily even though she says her children go straight to bed when she gets in and she sets off back to Manchester before they go to school.
Apparently she prefers the daily grind of travelling rather than the much easier option of moving the family up there as most of her co-workers have done.
I wonder how she really feels about being partnered by a person from Grimsby?
She has the unfortunate sneering expression of a total snob when on her breakfast show, her eyes are especially unfriendly and cold. The persona she presents on strictly is of a happy go lucky woman but her eyes are still as cold and calculating as ever.
She does have a snobby sneering expression We watch BBC breakfast tv and I have always thought this and have never been able to take to her. I have always thought her unfriendly too.

I didn't much care for the Paso last night and I don't like Susanna. She isn't just desperate, that I could deal with. She's way, way OTT with the facial expressions and the drama of it all. It doesn't really fit with the woman I've watched on my tv for a long time - yet she isn't an actress that I know of. I suspect Ms Susanna has had quite a few dance lessons - for a 43 year old woman to be able to cartwheel the way she did on her first night, I suspect she has been having gym lessons also. This lady hasn't come into this as a beginner but she would have us think she has.

She's fake, I said it in the beginning and I'm saying it now. Her paso was passe as far as I'm concerned.

It's a poll for favourite last night. I voted for them because I loved their dance last night, but they are not my favourites overall.

Why do you say that? She's not at good as a few others, and doesn't deserve to.

I was smilling through some anti-Susanna comments until I came across the one above. That's absolutely breath-taking!

That is a particularly nasty post.

Have you considered that she commutes because she has a home & family in London & decided that it's easier to travel herself than disrupt her sons schooling & making her partner change jobs to move North with her. Of course if she had insisted on the whole family uprooting to follow her, then that would have made her equally 'cold & calculating'. She chooses to work but also be there for her sons as much as possible. Something that we should be applauding rather than deriding. She is lucky enough to be able to afford to do all the travelling to see her family daily, something that is important to all parents surely. Most mothers would cut of their right arm to do the right thing by their children & to me that's all that Susanna is doing ie juggling lots of balls in the air rather than making their own life easier.
Precisely. Well said, Jan!

Why is it ok for you to have a negative opinion of Susanna but nobody can have one of Natalie?
