Shouldn't he have used a poncho instead of a cape? At least it would have been in keeping with the dance instead of a random cowboy with a cape.

Good point. I got rather excited when there was mention of a lasso in their VT.

It's the one dance I haven't been able to watch again

Craig's 'bizarre' was an understatement

Not my favourite Paso but I do think Ashley is improving greatly. For me he has always been vanilla but I'm slowly changing my mind

I quite liked Ola's theme, and had she any inkling that Kevin was going for a very traditional Paso, I think she was rather clever.

Bizzare because it was cowboy? On that stance I can agree, but then when facing a traditional one in the same night, did she do right to go totally opposite? had they gone down the traditional route I would take it to the bank the scoring would have been better.

I think it has to be said Ashley was very strong in the routine..

Craig was right, it was a bizarre combination. They should have used a lasso instead, or just left the capework bit out.

But I liked the dance otherwise, it was excellent.

I liked the theme and Ashley looked good as a cowboy.

I think she chose wrongly (if the choice was hers). The music and costumes distracted me from what might have been a decent Paso.

I really think Ashley could be a serious contender, in spite of his limited time to practice due to Hollyoaks filming, and I thought him performing a paso could have been GREAT WOW!, instead it left me thinking "err that was good, I think "

The cowboy theme took over and then was not followed through due to use of a bullfighter's cape. I think a combination of paso and cowboy was odd, but could have worked if capework had used something else other than a cape.

I think a problem for Ashley and Ola is that they were eclipsed. One could be forgiven when reading these boards for not remembering there were two pasos last night. Ashley and Ola's has generated a dozen posts and Suzanna and Kevin's perhaps as many pages.

We rather assumed that it was planned to be a lasso but Ashley failed to learn to use it in time and the cape was easier!

My favourite dance of the night! But I did think the cape should have been 'cowboy' coloured!

Although the 'concept' didn't work brilliantly, I really enjoyed Ashley last night.

He was very good indeed, absolutely committed and convincing, and he did tremendously well, he surprised me.

He's capable of both elegance and strength - I watch him with increasing interest.

A lot of Western movies are set in Mexico (Magnificent Seven, Fistful of dollars etc) so would not have been too much of a stretch to have "latino'd" it up a bit.

Mind you - I agree with this (legendary) post

I don't think I will ever forget Ashley's Paso-segues-into-boy-band routine. I may not be able to watch it a second time, but I will never forget it

(You can test me next year ).

I enjoyed Ashleys's Paso last night but their outfits took from the dance as did the music choice for Natalies charleston. I think if some of these dances were back in the studio they would not have scored the points that they did. Kevin was the whole of his and Susannahs paso. I think the judges got over excited by the sea air and Blackpool!

I enjoyed it too. Ashley is my favourite, has been right from the start, and I always look forward to his dance.

Ashley has come on in leaps .... I do think the theme let them down

I like Ashley and think he still has a lot more potential, but that paso did nothing for me. Wrong costume, wrong music - the whole thing looked as if it had escaped from a panto! Craig was right - bizarre darrrrhling!

TBH I'm completely fed up with this years fancy dress fest.

I like Ashley but that whole Cowboy persona was a definate turn off..

I felt - and still do -out of step with the forum over Ashley's dance. I didn't think he was very good Every time he did the arms raising type movement I was reminded of 'children, see if you can be a steeple'

My favourite too. I thought it was an interesting and origianl paso interpretation. Also Ashley carried it off quite well.

Ashley's Paso should be renamed Pass-up, especially after seeing that dreaded knee slide again. Completely random!

You're not out of step. I didn't care for it - never enjoy watching Ashley, boring choreography and I found the cowboy theme and music tasteless.
