As for Mark and Iveta - I suppose it's like giving a prize to the dunce because you feel sorry for them - at least they're a nice couple!!
I think she patronises him because he is fat and a poor dancer, she treats him like a kid. He¡s obviously quite happy as he is and doesn't need to be patronised.

Fattist?

The thread asked for the most likable couple, surely there isn't just one right answer?

The fat guy with dodgy knees who is a great performer and the über bendy Lithuanian lady, of course. I really enjoy their humour. But even more than that I love the quiet energy between the black guy who really can dance and the hot Siberian lass.

(Not sure who exactly is supposed to be patronising Mark. Iveta? People who like him? The show?)

Pull the maggots out of that ”

Ha ha! Well said. Mark IS fat. I also said he's probably happy as he is and doesn't need patronising.

The elephant in the room syndrome rears its ugly head and I'm not having it.

I liked Dave and Karen, Deborah and Robin, and Vanessa and James of the departed couples

currently

Susanna and Kevin
Mark and Iveta
Ashley and Ola - he seems very shy around her, which I find adorable

I think Ashley and Ola are acting the least when they get along. I think they can do it without trying.

I think Patrick and Anya seem like a lovely couple and Susanna and Kevin, she is always thanking him and saying well done, it's quite sweet.

I actually think all the couple left seem to genuinely get on really well and it's lovely to see the friendships grow.

Sophie and. Brendan, Mark and Ivetta and Patrick and Anya. Patrick seems a really sweet guy but when he dances his legs always remind me of a kid at a party.

Misread this as lickable and so the absolute filth I had planned to write is now entirely inappropriate.

As you were.

At least that was a bit exciting.

I've just read some of the thread and keep readin Mark and Ryveta

And then laughing.

I love them.

I think Susannah and Kevin have a very good partnership.

Likeable - really Patrick and Anya - close, not showy but excellent nontheless.

For me it is Sophie and Brendan, they come across so well and Brendan seems very caring of Sophie. After them it is Mark and Iveta, and Abbey and Alijaz. !

Mark and Iveta's relationship is surprising, touching and hilarious. They seem to have a genuine fondness for one another and a great rapport. I think Iveta was lucky to get Mark as a partner in her first proper year. Had she been partnered with Ben or Ashley I think she would have come across as a bit severe but with Mark we've seen her sense of humour as well as the side of her that will crush you.

I think Susanna and Kevin are over egging the matey matey thing - a bit like Lisa and Robin last year.

Everyone else seems to have a fairly standard teacher/student relationship.

Same for me. I know Mark's dancing is rubbish but I have liked him from the start of his TV career (when he did that bank commercial) and in the series Land Girls I thought his comic acting was as good as the great Ronnie Barker. I think one day he will have his own series.

Iveta is the most talented latin dancer we have ever seen on this show (sorry about that Karen) and with the right partner could well have made World Professional Latin Champion. She also has an engaging personality. I regularly vote for Mark to help keep her in. It's a pity she doesn't have a page in Wikipedia giving her history - most of them do.
