Strictly series - Champion of Champions
StevieBlunder

Hi all.

I'm not on here a great deal so I don't know if this has ever been discussed on here or in the media, but how do people feel about a series where the champions compete against each other? Could it ever happen? Has it ever been on the cards?

- I've been watching some of Kara and Artem's dances of 2010 and it takes me back, so emotional, would love to see them again (the rumba, american smooth and arg tango, still really move me)

Could that be done fairly? For example those who won several years ago might sstrggle to keep up after a long break while more recent champions would still be fresh.

The Christmas specials used to be along those lines, and I much preferred them like that to the week-1-esque specials we get now with random celebs.

As yosemitesam says, the logistics would probably make it impossible but I would love to see even a mini-series of past champions competing against each other, if a level playing field fitness- and practice-wise could be magically achieved.

True, it'll never be a complete level playing field. There are also problems with champs winning with the same pro. And to get a few of them to commit the time would be difficult. And the pros to commit time as well, because I guess it would have to be at a different time of the year to the regular series.

So alas, I agree it's very unlikely in the near future. Maybe a few years down the line when they have more of a choice of champs. But then still a massive long-shot

They've all gone to seed and their cokey words about teaching the world to dance have gone to pot as well. Like their bellies probably.
If you like to see people past their prime humiliating themselves, try heavyweight boxing.

No pro on UK Strictly has won twice, though I wonder if this year will be the year!

I can't see it being possible to get enough to want to do a whole series with their other commitments.

How about a 'Second Chance" series with some who did well but did not win?

How about a show for the best dancers from previous series, rather than the winners? (not usually the same celebrity!)

True, with the possible exception of George Foreman.

"cokey words about teaching the world to dance" - I see what you did there.
