In the Court of the Lich King Forsyth, mere seconds of a butchered link can be drawn into a thousand eternities of torment. He is the Black Goat Of The Rude with a Thousand Puns. He will never be stopped, he will continue to thrive and destroy, a force as innate in the universe as entropy itself!

I wonder how many that rubbish Bruce are quick to put their elderly relatives in a home. I don't understand why so many are emotionally against him - he is fine & represents non-aggressive British family entertainment with charm, which is what the show is all about.

Aw.. my gawd..

What a ridiculous suggestion Sally, just because some people think he's past it and should pack it in.

But you did give me a laugh.

That's my view too.

And God forbid that when he does finally hang up his hat, the BBC decides to replace him with the awful Anton.

OMG Brucie was FABULOUS on Saturday !!! Possibly his best week this year so far. He encapsulated why this show depends on him so totally.

There is only one person who can step into his shoes when he does, sadly, decide to walk away, and that is Anton. He is the only one who can deliver the fun, the silliness, the touch of farce and comedy and 'live' professional-ness that can entertain everyone from 5 to 90yo.

You are 100% wrong. EVERYone loves Brucie's humour. That is the core reason for the millions of viewers every week.

The number of posts calling for him to dodder off into the sunset would suggest not EVERYone does love his humour. Some do, some don't.

Ridiculous statement. Putting them in a home is a million miles away from acknowledging that they are no longer able to do what they used to.

My mum is older than Brucie and she thinks he should retire too.

To be fair, he wasn't so bad at Blackpool.

I think his 'humour' / jokes are very aggressive towards the audience - he a bully. Hardly a good representative. His jokes sarcastic, condescending and mean. Aren't you paying attention?

Ah, our weekly "Bruce must go" thread.

I would love to see him go, he makes me cringe. Tess and Claudia do a great job between them but if they must have a male presenter I'd vote for Bradley Walsh.

Fact - you can't put a relative in a home. They have to decide that for themselves. Even with Power of Attorney you do not have "power over the person", only to oversee their financial affairs.

In answer to the original question, I would think the answer will be when he and/or the BBC feels it's appropriate (subject to whatever contractual conditions apply).

Can't work out if this is a wind-up or you're on drugs.

Either way it made me laugh.

Just thought....are you Bruce's wife??

I think he's fine. I don't think age has much to do with it.

He tries to draw attention to himself all the time and it's like that embarrassing uncle at a wedding who insists on getting up to show off his singing skills.

The sunday results show always runs a lot more smoothly and is way more fun to watch, and it's all down to Bruce not being there.

If they insist on a male older host, why not Terry Wogan? He presented the original version and he proves every year on Children in Need that he's funny, charming and can still present the hell out of a show (and he's not so lazy that he only presents one night!)

Get rid of Bruce.”

1) are you aware the Sunday show is not live but recorded on Saturday so all mistakes are taken out so does run smoother, so that's your argument gone there.

2) do remember without Bruce SCD might not have been the success it has been, it needed a star name to kick it off.

Tess quotes it very well she will not speculate on Bruce as it's disrespectful.

So the way to try to make your case is to insult them? Everyone who likes Bruce must be a relative,

Keep the discussion professional.

1) You are ignoring the 2 live Shows Tess & Claudia have done.

2) It is a bit like hanging on to a well made fashionable jacket and insist on wearing it for best, even after the moths have got at it, sleeves are hanging on by a thread and it looks dated.

"Might not" are two very important words - no-one will ever know if the show would have been such a success without him - none of his fans or none of the dislikers. No-one.

My parents think the same, although they are slightly younger (a mere 80!). They never liked him, which leads me on to...

They and I agree. Bruce has always, always come over to us as the most arrogant man, but without the talent to justify his self-belief. He's never been half as good as he thinks he is, but seems to believe he is the rightful centre of attention. He's not very funny and he can be quite unpleasant at times, whilst (with no sense of shame at all) having a go at Craig.

Ah! Memories!

All those years ago, my dad never liked him.

He used to say seeing that his face on a bottle of Daddies Sauce, made him change to Heinz tomato ketchup.

I actually mentioned that I know it's not live if you'd cared to read my previous posts. I work in TV so I know that they don't cut out mistakes on the sunday show, they only edit the things out like getting the stage ready for performances, etc.

Also, I'm not doubting he might have been responsible for kicking it off, but he's way past it now.

My parents (50s) and grandma (80s) are the same, they find him really condescending and arrogant. He always has that air of upper-class snob about him, I think. Plus, the fact he insists he's hilarious, can't be doing with it.
