Best way is to phone the network isn't it as you need a carrier unlock.

What network is it on? You should have done your research before buying it? Or better still get one that's either already unlocked or on your network.
If it's any network apart from Orange it should be pretty straight forward to unlock it and cost around £20. So what network is it on? |

Even if it's jailbroken(which I dout) , it can't be 100% unlocked, only software unlocked which means it will be unlocked until the software is updated, then it will need unlocking again. |
