Just came across this.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...anny-dyer.html

Who does this guy think he is and how does he think that HE will save the show? He stars in little straight to dvd movies and will probably leave within a few months to make another few.

Don't sound like many people do!, I reserve judgement until I see him on screen, I know his not got the best rep but he could change your mind who knows, I really wouldn't take it too seriously its banter.

Danny Dyer will create lots of hype and publicity for Eastenders and that is what the show needs.

I hate this excuse, it gives anyone the right to say anything they like, then simply pass it off as "banter". I don't like Danny Dire, and I think EE are making a mistake taking him on.

It's not about saying anything and then simply calling it banter afterwards. It's about putting his comments in context of a jokey conversation.

Have you listened to the full conversation?

What exactly is Danny Dyer going to do that will give the show hype?

A female friend met him at a public appearance locally a few months back, along with a football hooligan 'fellow' !

Well he's already caused an uproar for taking the mick out of emmerdale. And when he was announced to be coming him twitter and the digital spy soap news headlines was buzzing.

He's obviously a well known actor and will bring viewers in.

Banter = an excuse to say what you want and then pass it on as banter.

Danny's notorious for making outrageous comments, people seem to read too much into them

EE could be looking at a BAFTA with that one

He's just 'avin a bubble

This is the danger of social media. Words without their context are printed with people making their own wrong interpretations

I think he could possibly be an embarrassment and the Beeb could spend a fair amount of time aapologising for him before mutually agreeing to go their separate ways.

At least let him do something outrageous before getting offended. Most here seem to dislike his general personality, so every time he opens his mouth it's the most despicable thing they've ever heard.
