A classical music could be a problem, it's harder to count to it.

This! Even Bernstein could help a thing or two for katin dances! They just have to be resourceful!

You would obviously have to limit it.

Viennese Waltz, American Smooth, Paso Doble, Tango, Argentine Tango, Rumba & Quickstep are all achievable.

Oh God yes please. I have danced AT to some Spanish guitar stuff and it is wonderful to dance to. Dig out a track will you Henry (Henry doesn't know it but he's my official music consultant - He can find in 30 seconds what I would take days to uncover!)

Yes, guitar, and for a bigger sound Zarzuelas for Latin.

Would love classical week.

Hey... Ooo, Hey... (I actually did make those noises.) If we're having Classical week, can we have Jazz week too?

Great. If they could stop counting and start dancing it would be easy to separate the sheep from the goats.

Classical week on DWTS is one of my favourites and have wanted to see it on SCD for years.

DWTS doesn't seem to have a problem with the music for each dance, so don't see why it should be a problem on SCD either. That said, these days the producers seem to mess up good ideas.

Are you trying to tempt John Borrowman out from the woods again?

Even Bruce went off-piste (when doesn't he, actually) to say what a difference classical music made. A week of all classical songs could really turn in some fantastic performances (then again, it could be a load of pretentious sh*te. What do I know?)

Thoughts?”

Yes and no.

I personally like the idea of more classical music (at Hallowee'n Week I was struck that there was much classical that could have been used brilliantly, rather than repeating previous song choices) but unsure how a whole programme would work.

But I definitely think there should be more classical music across the series - would improve the 'storytelling' too imo.

I hate the S-word. Because of all the storytelling there's often no time for the real dance. Like that Artem and Nathalie's Viennese Waltz on Halloween. The judges went all crazy, but if they tried to pass it for a VW in Vienna they'd kick them out.

Here´s a virtual cabeceo coming over

Here you are - an acoustic version of Pa' Bailar which I have posted before elsewhere.

http://youtu.be/-hitNO3BaFI

They've played Verano Porteņo before on SCD - for Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe

There is also Al Di Meola's Libertango

The SCD band did well with Libertango - Dani Harmer and Vincent Simone

Here's a good Zarzuela, Pet. Most of them are packed with dances. So they could do a Waltz even in addition to the Paso Doble.

On jazz here's something Latin that I fell in love. Al Di Meola's Elagant Gypsy was one of my first record purchases.

Classic FM always play Libertango and it's a sort of 'go to' music for AT I feel...

I'd also like to see them do a week were all the contestants do comparable dances. Probably when they are down to two dances. They could draw for which dance wins.

Not everyone loves pop either...

I like this, and I'd add they should have appropriate theming and costuming reminiscent of the dance type. Something a bit more down to earth.

(Then they can all go crazy the week after with their props and shoehorned songs and themes that make no sense. )

Appropriate music - what a novel idea .... and why shouldn't it hack off some viewers when I need to listen to crap like will.i.am

Only problem is, I'm not sure the choreographic skills of some of the pros could cope with something so radical !

I think its down to what the beeb would deem entertaining , im not so sure they would be willing to risk it. especially since they are creaming the opposition this year.

I'd definitely like to see more dances performed to traditional music, some of this years efforts have been barely recognisable!
Fewer props would be good too, but like a couple of other posters on this thread I wonder if some of the celebs could handle 90seconds of choreography.............
