And thanks for the gracious apology - not many people would have done that, so I take my hat off to you.

And thank you, everybody, for your helpful comments about Kenwood and Kitchenaid. I was seriously researching blenders as we need to liquidise my mum's meals for her (a combination of Alzheimers and refusal to wear her dentures means it's puréed food or starvation).

So it was only semi-serious, since all I really need is an electric food mill (I wish Mouli did an electric version) not a state of the art blender/mixer. I think we're going to go upmarket and opt for Tommee Tippee...

And you can always get the apple green Kitchenaid further down the line to match.

Sorry about your mum hun.

I think Austin let himself down in that semi - his American Smooth was the other dance - the one with Erin wearing arm hankies.

And it was sort of crap.

All the fuss about it amused me a bit, as if there was some massive conspiracy to make Austin 'dance a bit crap' or something - perhaps they put 'dance a bit crap pills' in his tea?

I was annoyed though, as I would rather he had been there than Tom Chambers, who just wasn't that good.

Oh, thanks for the reminder about the AS. It was a bit crap, wasn't it? Erin wearing bunting didn't help, but I think it was the dire lifts that let him down (I'm sure he gave Erin a fireman's lift at one point...), as well as him being more rigid than he had a right to be at that stage in the competition. For a dance in the early rounds, it would have been good. At that stage it was poor in comparison with the others, and was judged accordingly.

Smug Vicar was a good dancer, just not good enough to be a worthy winner, IMO (apart from the show dance, obvs).

But we will always have that paso...

That's the size of it - you remember it well.

The Paso was fun - I liked it, still a triumph of style over substance, but memorable in the best way.

That AS though, total pants, could hardly believe my eyes.

To be honest, I remember it because I re-watched it yesterday when I was re-acquainting myself with Series 6 and some of its dances. It's a series that I often cite as my least favourite, but I've belatedly realised that I do it a grave injustice. It was dominated by the Bacofoil dance, the John Sergeant resignation and the AUSTINWOZROBBED frenzy, but it had masses of other memorable moments and, in retrospect, I think it was an amazing series...

It's my absolute favourite. I adored it - the drama, the passion, I was FIXATED with Rachel and Vincent.

Some fabulous, wonderful dancing, and it was exciting all the way through.

I enjoyed the John Sergeant business. He wasn't very good but there was something innocent about his inability. Since there has been a self consciousness about the inept funny one which annoys me. John's attempts seemed organic and uncontrived..

Remembering the sight of him plodding solemnly across the floor like an overgrown gnome dragging Kristina like he was taking her to the bins will make me smile to my dying day. as will the post resignation press conference with a mirthful Paxman. Happy days.

I was watching their AT this morning. She does a beautiful volcada - a step that makes me freak out. I have been trying to find a close up of her dress too I want to copy it.

Best celeb AT EVAH.

I remember Lisa's AT being a terrible, spiky OTT mess, but I can't remember Austin's at ALL

Perhaps he didn't do one.

That's a shame.

Depends on whether you want it for looks or how hard wearing it is. if you want it to look pretty in your kitchen, Kitchenaid every time. If you want something that is tough and will last forever, then go for Kenwood. I was kneading bread in mine, walked away and it fell off the kitchen side, not a mark on it.
What Alli fails to mention is that she had to replace the kitchen floor.

On topic Austin Healey is a dirty ringah

Lisa flailed all her limbs around in mid-air like a daddy long-legs going down a plughole. Austin of course didn't do one, because he WUZZROBBED.

It'll be so nice to look back in the knowledge that Austin won All-Stars, narrowly pipping Chelsee and 2015 runner-up Una in an all-Healey final.

It would be absolutely no fun whatsoever if Austin finally won. What would I rant about then? He's far more fondly remembered as the gallant, plucky loser who was robbed by that evil Lisa Snowdon than him actually having to dance and him not be as good as we remembered.
