I thought she was okay, her acting was fine and she looks the right age, she fits in with the others and can now have scenes with Tom without them looking like mother and son.
The only weird thing was the scene about Callum, but that wasn't her fault. I think I would prefer them to ignore the history of Holly and Callum, rather than watch the actress who wasn't in any scenes with the guy talking about her feelings about him. |

I quite like her too...she is a better actress and suits the role far better!
Wallis was like a supermodel in a school uniform but I really began to warm to her in Later! There was quite a backlash on twitter about this an I'm not surprised, the same happened when Wallis first join but the bus crash kind of overshadowed it plus Holly was being reintroduced. I hope people will begin to warm to her but I feel the timing was poor, bereavement is such a massive storyline and I feel it would've been better if Callum just moved away and Amanda had a fresh storyline instead of pretending she is grieving. I hope Amanda gets more storylines than Wallis did! |

She looks like a young Gemma Bissix to me and had Claire had a younger sister could easily have played her!

Its not the actress' fault but that felt incredibly insincere. They shouldn't have recast the role this soon. When Wallis left they should have had a couple of months break and said she was staying with Jude or someone not have a new actress play out the remainder of Holly's grief (Course this is Hollyoaks, she'll have gotten over it in about 3 days just like Jacqui, Steph, Mercedes, Ste, Dennis and pretty much everyone who isn't Ruby). I see no difference in the abilities of that actress compared to Wallis either but Wallis had become the character for me so I just find this weird. Bad move on BK's part if you ask me.

Head-swapping, baby-swapping, that BK's a b*gger for it!
The new one fits the bill imo. |

It seem odd if she did not mention Callum though and what Holly went through as well.

I don't know which death you're referring to with Mercedes but she did not 'grieve for a few days' with any of them. With Riley, she became completely psychotic in the mental institute. I know she was already quite psychotic but she really lost it when Riley died. She didn't want to paint Riley as a murderer but she had to to get out of prison. She felt guilty about it. And with Myra, she completely disowned Browning and MURDERED him because she thought he killed her. She has definitely been very upset since Myra's death. The last we saw of Ste was him grieving over Doug. Yes, he clearly grieved for three days The last we saw of Dennis too was him grieving over Leanne. He participated in the whole Will thing to serve justice for Leanne. It annoys me so much when people try to find reasons to slate the show when they're not even valid. |

It's difficult to accept considering she seems to be given grieving scenes for Callum after it was Wallis Day we saw go through all that stuff in HO Later.
It's hard to reconcile them as the same character as the new one seems to act a lot younger. |

Amanda recieved a major backlash on twitter i found it horrid people calling her ugly and saying "BRING BACK WALLIS SHE IS HOTTER" to me it seems a bit too soon for a recast considering Wallis' last appearance was 2 weeks ago! Amanda seems promising im hoping she sticks around for longer than a year though i would HATE another recast!
Also decent storylines would be nice for her however i feel that they're going down the Jason/Holly relationship route |

I suppose Callum and Holly were never very close though. It was always a very casual, brief relationship and we never really saw Holly grieve over his death other than a small cry to Cindy. For example, if Roy was re-casted as soon as Hayley died in CS then that would be a different story, but I don't think it matters too much with Callum and Holly.

I find it hard getting on board with it because she acts the character so differently to the previous one who we actually saw going through it. |
