If he really couldn't tell the time would he really believe on TV was the best place to learn. That is unless you wanted to get air time for being the thicko that some of the viewing public seem to admire.

Still doesn't prove that he can actually tell the time .

I like him but he's clearly numb enough to wear a watch as an accessory rather than a time peace .

Because ITV see her as a threat to Joey winning, any person that builds up any popularity at some point (other than Joey) will be thrown under the bus this year, they are set on Joey being king.

I'm 26 and I can't tell the time by a clock with hands. My parents taught me when I was younger and obviously at school, but it just all went over my head. I always preferred to wear a digital watch when I was 6 or 7 and growing up...the little digital Casio watches. Then eventually mobile phones came out and as time went on I would just check my phone for the time etc. It's hard to explain really, but it's never been an issue and I think it's perfectly plausible that Joey can't tell the time by a clock with hands. Just want to add as well that I have been to University and have a good job lol.

How great that you've made up your mind 2 episodes in

Having worked with dyslexic children, many of them find telling the time by an analogue clock extremely difficult to learn and as most of them tell the time via a mobile phone anyway it isn't too much of a problem in everyday life. It doesn't mean they are 'thick'.

Most of the people slagging off Joey made their mind up before the show had even started.

Did he not go to school?

If he is dyslexic it is quite possible that he didn't learn how to tell the time at school. As some children leave school without being able to read, write or do basic maths, it is not beyond the realms of possibility. It's not good, but it happens.

Well Joey and I are similar ages and I remember being taught to tell the time in primary school in two different years..

Why is it "obviously" an act? On TOWIE he has struggled with telling the time too. Can someone really act all the time? There has been a couple of times when someone has asked him the time, because he has been wearing a watch, and he has got his phone out. He said he wears a watch as a fashion accessory. There are different kinds of stupidity, just because he shows intelligence on some things it doesn't mean he's acting on other things. I know lots of people who are really academic but completely lack common sense.

I thought I was watching a clip from the film 50 first dates last night. Adam Sandler was funnier .

If he can't tell the time (though I personally believe he can) why has he never learned, obviously if he is dyslexic, it will make it more difficult but he seemed to be making pretty good progress when Amy was showing him using a dirt path & a couple of twigs.
Sorry but I'm not buying it.

I have to hand it to him. It's pretty good. I would never have thought about not being able to tell the time.

Takes brains, that, to sound thick.

So Amy managed what teachers in the UK couldn't and that was to teach Joey how to tell the time by drawing the time in the dirt with a stick. His dyslexia seemed to vanish very quickly .

You don't know how long it took her. I've taught things to people with dyslexia that they have forgotten hours later.

Being dyslexic is not all bad though:

What are the strengths and skills of the dyslexic or dyspraxic?
Particular skills can include some of the following:
=aspects of auditory processing: in particular perceiving verbal and musical sounds quickly and well. Dyslexics and dyspraxics often have a predilection therefore for appreciating and creating word puns (especially rhyming word puns) such as used in jokes or journalism; hearing each word in a song on first listening; for copying accents in drama; and being able to listen to music, or a conversation, at the same time as working.
=general auditory memory: remembering spoken information, for example from listening to a lecture, television programme or song. Sometimes powers of recall can be to the extent of reciting word for word.
=visualising: a readiness to translate ideas and word meanings into pictures; as such, dyslexics and dyspraxics can show a propensity for Film or Graphics.
=holistic visual memory: while the dyslexic or dyspraxic can find it very difficult to recall a sequence of items laid in a row, he or she can be talented when recalling items in any random order, shown as a group.
=spatial awareness: a holistic awareness of items in a spatial, 3-D sense, such as 3-D puzzles, designing and building, technical mechanics,
particular sports and dance.
=problem-solving: seeing things as a whole, and offering a different perspective by using fresh ideas which can be innovative solutions.
=verbal communication: fluent and witty speech is common,
with accompanying skill in public speaking, drama, marketing, communicating
by telephone, teaching and story-telling.
='people skills': a keen social awareness, an ability to tap into current trends, and get the best out of working with others.

I'm not a thicko and I certainly don't put anything on but I struggle reading a clock with hands and I can 'get it' one day and totally forget the next. I don't know my left from right either without consentrating. I also confuse colours even though I know they are for example green I will call them yellow. Doesn't make me stupid or thick or a actor its just the brain doing tricks.

How clever of me to manage to work in a high level job and con my employers into thinking I'm a capable person when according to all you brain boxes I'm stupid.

Well they have only been in the jungle 2 days so no more than 48hrs I guess!!

His dyslexia hasn't hindered him when it comes to opening his own shop ,managing stock and the till, bringing his own perfume out .He also drives so I agree Joey is not daft...we are for buying into his dumb act.

Dyslexia hasn't affected Richard Branson opening his own empire, Alexander Graham Bell from inventing the telephone, Walt Disney from having a film corporation or others such as Einstein, Edison, Faraday, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Eddie Izzard, John Madjeski, Picasso, Lord Richard Rogers, Steven Speilberg ....
