Honestly I am the biggest football fan going but internationals like this are so drab and boring/pointless I hate to say that but its true, all anybody cares about is the premier league, so coming from the biggest football fan going here I have to say I completely agree with you I want to watch I'm a celeb its so annoying

I'm an Arsenal fan and is it our game? And I'd still be annoyed if it was as I can watch that on Sky.

I can't argue with that yellowlabbie!

I will say one thing though .... 47% of all viewers watching TV last night watched IAC. 18% (of people watching the box) watched the football last Friday.

It's possible that ITV's contract states the games must be on ITV1...

I have to say I didn't realise IAC was that popular

Yes, I'm sure it is as simple as that.

Neither did I if I am honest. I just checked the ratings after I saw 11 million mentioned in this thread.

I totally agree. I still haven't seen what should have been the two Friday night episodes of Corrie that were cancelled for a football match that I had absolutely no interest in what so ever.

Sunday night is NOT the time for Corrie when it coincides with other programmes that we want to watch.

So, now they are apparently going to rob us of episodes of I'm a Celebrity for the sake of watching yet more men kicking a ball round a field. How dare they decide what we should or shouldn't watch! I love nature programmes like Spring Watch, and I would love to see the reaction of sports fans if it was announced that Match of the Day was being replaced by Chris Packham watching badgers and discussing the feeding habits of lesser spotted woodpeckers by examining their poo. I don't think they would be very happy and I wouldn't blame them, but it applies equally the other way round!!

Sport should be shown on a separate channel for people who happen to be interested in it, or at least have the courtesy of showing the programmes they are replacing on another channel at the same time so that we have a choice.

I am very angry

Two shows in and there's a break already. It's so annoying! It happens every year and ITV still haven't found a solution to it. Can't they show it after the football has finished? Or would that be too late.

I'm glad that ITV have lost the rights to Champions League football after next season.

I don't see why they can't just put the football on ITV2 !

This is far more important than IAC and Arsenal are far more entertaining than Matthew Wright and Joey whatshisname.

They used to do that. I think IAC started at 9.45 after the football had finished.

I agree, or at least put the programmes they are replacing on ITV2 to coincide so that we don't have to miss them.

Like the saying goes" better late than never".

Even though they show a longer highlights show the following day, it's only usually by another half an hour.

If they have to show the football why could they not show I'm A Celebrity at 10PM?

I'd rather that than missing a day out

I agree with the OP. Really annoying to stop IACGMOOH for football!

Football should be on a separate channel. Those who like if can watch that and those who like soaps and HA V can watch that. Simples

Its not as if the majority of viewers cannot get ITV2.
Just make it clear last night and tonight that IAC has moved for one night only. Then again on Wednesday for the thickos who tune into ITV2 lol
Surely the net of showing both simultanously is an increased audience, so greater advertising revenue? I for one will be watching another channel as couldn't care a jot about soccer.

Maybe 30 years ago, have you watched them lately, most footie expert seem to think they are exciting to watch and they are top of the league.

Surely ITV do this deliberately though, They could have IAC start earlier/later in the year to avoid a football date that was decided 3 years ago (Could have been a playoff, so they did know there was to be a game this evening well in advance)

Why do we have this crap on every thread, if it isnt the soap fans moaning about football, its the im a celebrity fans.

It is on for an hour and a half tommorrow night, so obviously will cover both days adequately. Just cut out a lot of the Ant and Dec stuff, and show more action.

Tonights game isnt just a friendly its England v Germany, a big history between the two sides.

I like im a celeb as well, but we got the Now show, that will do

It does seem bizarre.

Football is one of those things that doesn't really rely on casual viewers to keep ratings up.

Football fans are diehards who would watch it regardless of the channel.

I guess it could be down to it being in the contract..or ITV may feel the need to put it on ITV1 due to the amount of money they spent on the rights.

I don't think anyone objects to football being shown...

...it just seems rather bizarre not to keep IAC on everyday at the same time and on the same channel..when there are a couple more ITV channels the football could be on...without the need to disrupt/stop/move a popular show.
