Yes, why drop the pointless football for something life changing and important like I'm a Celebrity or Coronation Street

Tonights game isnt just a friendly its England v Germany, a big history between the two sides.

I like im a celeb as well, but we got the Now show, that will do”

It's a meaningless friendly. If it is that important and the fans want to watch it, then they'll watch it no matter what channel they put it on. It will be interesting to see how many viewers feel it is an important fixture. IAC has been getting roughly 11 million.

You're clearly not the biggest football fan going if you think the Premiership is all that matters

What about all the people who support lower division clubs?

That's so true, after all overpaid footballers playing in a friendly meaningless match is life changing.

So, now they are apparently going to rob us of episodes of I'm a Celebrity for the sake of watching yet more men kicking a ball round a field. How dare they decide what we should or shouldn't watch! I love nature programmes like Spring Watch, and I would love to see the reaction of sports fans if it was announced that Match of the Day was being replaced by Chris Packham watching badgers and discussing the feeding habits of lesser spotted woodpeckers by examining their poo. I don't think they would be very happy and I wouldn't blame them, but it applies equally the other way round!!

Sport should be shown on a separate channel for people who happen to be interested in it, or at least have the courtesy of showing the programmes they are replacing on another channel at the same time so that we have a choice.

I am very angry ”

Get a life

It really isnt that important

"Get a life" says the man,who has started 179 threads, all on BB with the exception of about 2 which are "strictly" and "x factor".

If it's not important, why are you on here commenting?

England vs Germany is a pretty big match, friendly or not

Football is popular with men, definately way more popular with men than IAC. Im sure you can deal with IAC being off just 1 or 2 nights in 3 whole weeks. Us guys deal with IAC being on nearly all of 3 weeks so surely you can cope with 1-2 nights off?

people honestly think itv should just break the terms of their contract which states that international football be only broadcast on itv1 - the contract being worth many millions of £ and not to mention ruining their reputation by breaking said contract? they cannot move it to another channel.

now of course its possbile they could broadcast IACGMOOH after the game, and thats where peoples complaints should be directed towards but you cannot be angry because they have an obligation to show the match on only that channel. the football is not the problem its itv's unwillingness to show the program after the football

Deal with it. Football deserves to be shown just as much as I'm a celeb or any soap. There is no stopping ITV putting a soap or I'm a celeb on ITV2, the people in charge of ITV are just too stupid to work this out.

I'm sure they used to show it after the games.

Anyway, good post

Sport has just as much of a right to be on ITV's main channel as any other show. There is no stopping you from going back to watch episodes of Soaps that you miss, they get repeated about 3 times a week.

To be honest i am getting a bit fed up of certain people moaning about Football being shown, it's 4 times at most a month, and once the Champions league group stages end it's pretty much nothing.

That last bit that i have highlighted is one point i agree with you on though.

Think of it this way. You won't be able to watch the tv show you'd like to see tonight.
Meanwhile in many parts of the world, people will go without food or clean water tonight.

I don't think people would object so much if the football matches being shown were important, but from what I can see it's yet another friendly. It's result is completely irrelevant, therefore there is no reason why it can't be put on ITV2 or 3 instead? These channels are freely available, not pay per view, what is the problem?

Why should a programme that gets over 11 million viewers be shoved out of the way to accommodate a pointless football match.

England v Germany is an intense rivalry. It is a friendly all in but name. This match matters to a lot of football fans. It seems selfish that IAC fans think they have a god written right for the show to be on for 3 weeks straight without a single break. Not everyone is an IAC fan and Itv has to cater for all audiences. Football caters to an audience who mainly dont watch IAC so Itv's decision to show football instead of IAC should be respected. It's only 1 day off for Iac, not that long anyway.

Because it will have been written in the contract for the footie to be shown on ITV1. Football is massive is it not, it is the most popular sport in England.

It is The World Cup next year and friendlies are important. I like IAC but it pails into insignificance when up against the footie.

Why are you moaning about fans of IAC in the IAC forum? What did you expect? People who enjoy the show are going to be annoyed that it's been taken off to accommodate the football.

Yep, and I'm not English and I don't live in England, so I couldn't give a flying shit. There's more chance of hell freezing over than there is of them ever winning any kind of competition again

Let's see if the viewing figures agree with you.

I'm a man, and I prefer to see IAC rather than a pointless friendly, that has no bearing on anything, and that is full of second rate players. They would have had an argument if it was the champions league.

Most people are not saying that itv should break their contact ; there are 2 other channels.
