Not everyone is an IAC fan and Itv has to cater for all audiences. Football caters to an audience who mainly dont watch IAC so Itv's decision to show football instead of IAC should be respected. It's only 1 day off for Iac, not that long anyway.”

Yeah, and football is on for 8 months straight.

No, but if football was as important to them and the country as some are saying, then surly itv would have bid more for both the champions league and the premier league.

They have joint rights to show the champions league, the FA cup, the europa league ( which they have relegated to itv 4.

i explained that, they cannot move it to another channel as that would break the contract

Yes, and I said that there is more than one channel. They can move IAC to another channel.

Nah, I never watch England unless they are losing and the commentators start getting all narky.

I'm watching a vintage Coronation Street that I taped in 1993. I'm not having them dictate to me what I can and can't watch.

I find it hard to believe that IAC would rather be dropped and not shown at all, than be moved to a lesser channel.

or they could have put it on later, as has been mentioned.

What England players would make good IAC contestants? Frank Lampard maybe for the eating trials?

I would have said John Terry but he doesn't play for England anymore

Nah, I'll tune in with about 10 minutes to go if they are still losing.

Being a huge football fan, I never thought I'd say this, but yeah, sod the football. Normally I'd have no problem with an England football match replacing something on one of the big terrestrial channels, but such is my apathy towards the national team these days, I would much rather be watching some jungle action too.

ITV2 could have stuck it on surely?

The fact England are currently losing 1-0 probably doesn't help...

ITV have paid for the rights so dumping it on ITV2 won't pay the bills.
I'm A Celebrity is all paid for and it will be back tomorrow along with all its viewers.
I hate football and won't watch but I'm guessing England v Germany is a game of interest to many and IAC will be on for the next 3 weeks nearly

Sad enough to look at my posting history

A football match took place and a reality show didnt air because of it

Get over it.

Nobody died

There's a reason why the viewing figure argument is flawed. ITV makes money from adverts. The 11 million or so who would watch "I'm a celeb" are probably going to see many other episodes of the show. So that market will be hit with tons of ads over the next couple of weeks.

And there's around 5 million, maybe more, football fans who would be targeted tonight during the adverts. Maybe there's many who will watch the match who aren't regular ITV viewers.

It's not always as simple as more viewing figures. It's about getting as many people as possible to tune into ITV at some point over a certain period of more than one day. And this match added around 5 million people who will see adverts on ITV.
