Yes, I'm sure it used to be different. They have only started this 'winner takes all' 'head to head' thing in the last couple of years. I know it piles the pressure on which makes for better TV as they get hungrier. But it does seem really cruel and intrinsically unfair to me. If they've gone through that, won stars, they should get something.
You can see why the temptation would be to just say, no, not doing it when you think that you could go through all that, eating those dreadful things, not failing in that you've done it all and still end up with nothing. Of course, it they did do that, just said no they'd get voted to do it again and again (like Helen, Sinitta etc) but it looks like that might happen anyway.
Matthew wright might not be the most likeable of people and he didn't help himself with his attitude on the first day but I felt really sorry for him tonight.
