Three Feel at Home

I am off the the ROI tomorrow and want to make use of Three's Feel at Home. I have a One Plan SIM in my HTC phone so that's fine, except looking at the small print there's no tethering. I also have a Three data only SIM in an iPad. It's not completely clear from Three's website, but am I right in assuming this is only for phones and can't be used on a tablet ?
Also, what about if I stick my HTC SIM in a modem dongle ?

Already a thread here with all you need to know.

It works for broadband and phone.

Actually, not all I need to know. I had already been reading that thread when it first appeared. However, it doesn't seem to address either the iPad or modem dongle - I've just reread all 6 pages and the best I could find was a passing reference to a mifi.
I will try both tomorrow and report back

Why not just call Three and ask them?

It says it in the first post of the thread.

If you have a data sim it will work on three like home abroad. Has to be in a broadband device like a dongle, mifi or tablet.
If you have a phone sim it will work abroad and on a phone

Life's too short, and I'm not sure I would be confident of what I was told.

It didn't quite say it like you repeated it above, but yes, I overlooked the mobile broadband comment, although I'm not sure I would have immediately associated that with tablets either. Anyway, it looks like just what I want and will verify tomorrow that it indeed does work on my iPad and laptop.

Well so far it doesn't work on either my dongle or my iPad. The dongle because when I plug it in all the menus and buttons come up in Chinese, the iPad because the Three Sim says no service. (Despite the fact that my other Three sim works fine in my HTC). However, all is well because I can tether from my HTC despite Three saying you can't.

You need to manually select the network.

You need to activate roaming on it. Call 333 if your on Three and tell them the mobile number of the iPad, they should be able to activate it.

Is it prepay or contract?

If contract then is roaming active on the account?

It's contract but I haven't done anything to enable roaming, I'll call 3. However surely it would still show a carrier rather than no service ?

Nope, as some roaming networks can't provide Three with live data, so they can't provide any service until it has been enabled.

Trouble is I don't have contract details with me(although I guess the sim number is on the sim). It's become a bit pressing as three have now spotted my tethering

All you need is the mobile number, which you can find in general and then about.

You don't even need that. All you need to know are your own personal details. Name. Address. Date of birth. Etc.

It helps to have the number as their automated menu asks for it, but as has been pointed out it is in general/about

I used a phone (one plan) and a pay monthly broadband (MiFi) in Italy on three like home (but slower). They worked, I just phoned before I left and checked roaming was enabled.

Their lines are open longer than any other network.
