I'll start off my saying that this isn't spam (no, really it's not! ) - I've been a member here for a few years and I'm no spammer as others will testify to.

That's that out of the way, please indulge me further dear reader .........

David Vigil is an American who creates excellent replica merchandise related to Naughty Dog's 'Uncharted' and 'The Last Of Us' PS3 games - sadly he has life-threatening pancreatic cancer (his second cancer attack in 12 months). A number of people have been doing their utmost to try and help David. His story has been covered by Kotaku, Joystiq and Polygon to name three off the top of my head. However, more money is needed - he needs another $20,000 by 21st November; nearly $30,000 has already been donated but the donations are only slowly coming in and at the current rate he won't meet his target.

You can read a lot more in this NeoGAF thread:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=715529

(note: in the first post the original deadline of November 18th is given - on page 8 of that thread you'll see that it's been extended to the 21st).

David's donation and information site is here:

Kotaku article:

Joystiq article:

Polygon article:

David needs the money by 21st November. A number of us are trying to help save his life even though many of us don't know him personally.

Can you help, if not by donating then by simply passing this information around to friends or by posting it on other forums?

Would also be great if Digital Spy could run a news article about this but I can't find a way to contact them - anyone know how to do this please?

Thank you!

Please don't flag this as spam - I'm trying to help a guy with cancer here and, if it helps, it IS PS3 related!

It really is sad that a country that is infamous with the Slogan the land of the free, would not look at helping you survive cancer unless you pay for it. Even though our own UK economy is on its knees theres still help and hope. God bless him and I wish him well

very true, they always find the money when there is a country to invade tho, they would be heading into another one now if the people had not been so against it, but that is another topic. i wish him all the best and hope he raises the money and pulls through...
