Characters that would have been all-time greats of Soapland if they had stayed longer
These are the characters who exited/killed off either because they were axed or the actor/actress decided to leave, but if they stayed would have been seen as a 'soap legend' but are now pretty much forgotten.
Neighbours Max Ramsay. Watching the early episodes of Neighbours you really get to sense that original character and Madge's hot-headed brother Max Ramsay would have been up there if the actor Francis Bell hadn't had issues and abruptly left the soap. Emmerdale Butch Dingle - Zak's other dim-witted son with a heart of gold apart from Sam. More endearing than Sam was such a shame they decided to kill off as the actor didn't want to leave. PC Shane Doyle - I really think he was a missed opportunity, killed before his time (unless the actor chose to leave). This fella really was sinister and you felt they had a lot of potential with this bent copper but he was hastily killed off to facilitate Jasmin Thomas' exit. Corrie - Graeme - David Platt's mate from Borstal Not killed off, so he could come back.

Chrissie Watts definately. She was legendary for the 00s but not all time; and had all the hallmarks had TAO not left.
(though I don't blame her - no one has ever carried EE as dominantly as she did no wonder she was knackered).

Chrissie definitely like somebody mentioned.
I'd like to say Lynne Slater, but at the same time she was quite annoying - but she could have been an all time great if she was kept. |

Can't believe no-one has said Jane from Corrie :'( how quickly you guys forget!!
![]() ... I always thought Natasha in Corrie had real potential before they pressed the turbo button on her becoming a nutter. |

Chrissy Watts is the obvious one – but they wrote her into a corner after she murdered Den. There was no way they could’ve kept her long term after that (which makes me concerned over whether or not we’ll see Janine again after her current exit).
I think there was potential for Sean Slater as well; although I’m not sure how long Rob would’ve stayed around and he seems to imply in interviews that he was axed. I loved the pairing with Roxy. |

All times are GMT. The time now is 12:23.

Not killed off, so he could come back.
