I have been running my game Fantasy Coach on DS for 2 and a bit years now and I am now looking for new people to join to make a 2nd league. If you read about the game and are interested in joining just post in the thread that you're interested or PM me.

The game is designed as a hybrid of Football Management games and Fantasy Football. Every team has players unique to them (i.e. there is only 1 Luis Suarez, 1 Robin Van Persie, etc.) and you can buy and sell players between the teams in the game. You play head to head each week against an opponent in your league of 10 and fight for the league title, in what will be a slightly shorter season of about 23 games.

The scoring is different from traditional fantasy football. You score points like normal, but your points are divided into attack points (2pts for a goal, 1pt for an assist) and defense points (2pts for goalie conceding, 1pt for a defender conceding). You want to score as many attack points as possible, whilst avoiding defense points. Your total score is then your attack points multiplied by your opponent’s defense points and you have to try to reach points targets.

For instance, if the first points target is 12, then 1 goal and 1 assist (3 attack points) and your opponent’s goalkeeper conceding 1 and defenders conceding 2 (4 defense points) would be enough to make it (3*4=12). This is like scoring a goal in the game and the winner is the person who reaches the most points targets, so you end up with scorelines like 3-1, 2-2 or 1-0. This might seem a little complex to begin with, but it is something people tend to pick up after the first couple of weeks and it can create pretty exciting matches with teams scoring late winners and launching comebacks from certain defeat.

You have a squad larger than typical Fantasy Football games. There is no maximum squad size, just a minimum of 18 players and the average team normally has a squad of about 20-26 players. Each week you name a team of 11 players and 7 subs in formations of 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and can choose your mentality of defensive, normal or attacking.

There is also a free agent auction each week, where teams can bid for players not already attached to a team. This typically makes January very busy with new players arriving. You will have your own budgets to manage for players’ wages and transfer fees. Spend too little and you'll miss out on the top players; spend too much and you could pay the price later in the season.

I am hoping to get enough people to look to make a start this weekend and have the first games the week after. The game is more involved than your typical forum game or Fantasy Football game, so I'd only recommend joining if you normally get really into stuff like this. I've been very fortunate to have a group who have been really committed to the game with our first league and hope we can recreate that with a new one.

The game started off being played mostly on the forum, but most of that has now moved onto its own site at fantasycoach.co.uk to make the game easier to follow. I will provide more details to people once I’ve seen if there is enough interest. You can visit the other thread here to get an idea of what is happening in the other league. Once you join the game, you will get your own login to the site.

Thanks for reading. I'm sure some of this may be a like confusing to begin, but if you think it is something that will interest you I look forward to hearing for you.
