Hope sophie makes the final as she appears to be genuinely a nice person. The exposure towards the final stages should also help her album, she is very much under rated and deserves success with this album. Wish bbc would allow her to perform her new single on the show, afterall, kimberly performed with girls aloud last year

i think they will as her album became available for pre-order today
Sophie should not be allowed to perform her new single until she is out of the competition, which might be only a couple of weeks away

As far as i know she has moved away from pop/dance for this album, I hope it works for her but I have to say I much prefer pop/dance Sophie. She is also great live, I would like her to tour more.

Kimberly sung when she was still in competition so dont really agree! Hope album works too, the clips on youtube actually sound good

Kimberley was still in the competition when Girls Aloud performed on Strictly. Why the different rules for Sophie?

Wasn't the track Kimberley/GA performed at Wembley for CIN though?
I'm in agreement with Cloudy I don't think Sophie should be allowed to perform a track from her album while she's still a contestant. I actually think it would work against her - nothing against her by the way - she's my favourite out of all the females left but I don't agree with any of the celebs doing heavy handed self promotion while they're on the show, remember the VT in which Kimberley was shown recording her album last year and then she found herself in the bottom 2 that week.

I hadn't heard of Kimberley / Girls Aloud before SCD last year or of Sophie before this year's SCD.

Yes Something New was last years children in need single and it was performed by Girls Aloud on children in need weekend. I agree it would not help Sophie's chances of winning for her to perform while still in the competition.
If she get's eliminated and is allowed to sing a track from her album, will it be; "I could have danced all night?"

I didn't think it would have gone down too well if GA had promoted something from their CDs especially as Kimberley had been in the bottom 2 the week before. I'm sure Sophie will get plenty of opportunities to promote her album after she's finished her strictly stint like Kimberely did - for now I'd rather she concentrate on training.

Do you really think it will help that much? she was never really main stream was she?.(don't get me wrong im not a hater) Its just I can only recall one song she's ever sang .

I agree with you. Although I'd heard of her "Murder on the Dance Floor" song, I couldn't have told you who sang it, and had never heard of Sophie before strictly..
It wouldn't really be fair to let her perform it while she's still a contestant, may be sen as producer favoritism.
She's just released the official audio of her new single today, so Christmas special sounds logical if anything.

In contrast to what some have said,Sophie was for me,the most recognisible of this years show and it was seeing her mentioned as a participant that sparked my enthusiasm for this series.
