He seems like a nice enough guy but for me his comedy bits don't really work. Rather than cutting to him and having slightly forced observations dressed up rather poorly as stand up, he should just be on the panel. At least he offers something, unlike a certain Mr Swash, and I think he would work ok in that role.
Whilst I didn't think Russell Kane was amazing, I think he was far better when he was on, and his 'stand up' sections were better observed, sharper, and most importantly funnier!
