The Producer Stage of Auditions?
Revolution 909
20-11-2013
Hiya

I'm going to be accompanying a friend of mine who will be auditioning for the producer auditions of BGT this weekend up in Belfast and I'm just wondering if people could describe to me what I/we can expect from it. Since none of that audition stage ever gets shown on TV I feel a little in the dark hahaha

Is this the stage where you see thousands of people queuing for the chance to audition? If so, how long could waiting times in such queues be?

Will there be TV cameras there?

What are his chances of being selected for judges auditions? Do many people get rejected at this point?

Any other titbits of information would be hugely appreciated.

Hi,

I've never been, but from what I understand there isn't an audience. I think the producers do film the auditions to help make decisions, but this is never publicised. Although I've heard often they tell the acts there and then whether they're through, I think it just depends if they have a strong enough first impression. Also, occasionally there's small-scale press (like, local papers etc.) that might take photos or interview, but it's nothing like in the televised judges' stages.

And yeah, you should probably be prepared to queue and wait :P I think the lines and waiting rooms are fairly similar to that seen on the TV episodes.

Again, don't hold me to this, but I think about 90 - a few hundred get put through in each location. I don't think there's really a limit - it's how many they find that they like.

I've never been, but I hope I was at least a bit of help Best of luck to your friend, have fun!
