I know Lorraine Newman is still credited in EastEnders but are the storylines developed from Lorraine Newman?

I thought Tina is DTC's creation.

There are 2 likely scenarios. The producers work well ahead of the announcements they make to us. We're talking months in advance. So the character and actress would in theory be Newmans work.

However, a few of us on here have a sneaking suspicion that DTC started work a while before the change of EPs was formally announced, to give him time to influence story and character decisions. So it really could be either. Newman would have known and signed off on Tina's creation though.

Likely that the character was introduced under Newman but cast under DTC.

I believe that episodes where the scripts had been signed off by Newman are still credited with her as producer - even if they were filmed under DTC.

I think subtle changes in characterisation, such as making her younger and a lesbian could be DTC’s work, but the actual broad episode content is still Newman.
