Sophie - is nice. A really nice girl. I think she's improving now and am hopeful. She's still a little weak and disconnected to Brendan, but the partnership might produce something amazing (in a variety of ways) so I'm still interested.

Susannah is gung ho and not bad at all. I'm not sure she's all she's cracked up to be, but she's good and getting better - I like the way she totally 'goes for it'. And Kevin is amazing value.

Ashley - I am getting keener and keener on him. I've watched him work very hard and improve week on week with little encouragement. He's capable of both power and elegance. I now actively look forward to seeing him dance - and I don't forget him.

Ben - really nice chap - glacially slow improvement - lots of smoke and wriggling around - just not very good.

Patrick inconsistent improver - sometimes takes great leaps but still has odd problems with his feet. Becoming progressively fonder and has immense spirit for dance.

Abbey Again, slow improvement - same problems crop up all the time - weak top line, floppy frame, unconvincing feet now and again, weak core - she never seems to properly 'pull it off' - a bit disappointing. I also find Aljaz' choreo dull, twee and not dynamic - but that's not her fault. Oh and I find her deeply irritating.”

Mark's ballroom dances have been so moving. He's the only one who has brought a tear to my eyes so far… his empty hands when Iveta left him.

Sophie is probably interesting because inconsistent… She keeps you guessing and on edge. Not sure I've relaxed for any of her performances (for good and for bad reasons!)

Good to hear someone speaking up for Ashley. He is my 'blind spot' this year.

'Glacially slow improvement for Ben'… Nice phrase! I watched him in the group dance at the start of this weekend's bash. Easy to do because he was next to Patrick who was really loving it… Ben looked quite becalmed and bewildered by the circumstance. Love him though…

Maybe Patrick like Sophie is interesting for his one-step forward, two steps back development, but unlike her, he really seems to feel it. Curious mix of apparent shyness vs shaking his hips and living the dance.

I'm not not a fan of that individual. But she has been too loud and must stand in the naughty corner with her finger over her lips for this one thread. Or out comes the muck spreader…

Generally agree - I've always been interested in Patrick, he has that 'joy', and it's enjoyable to watch him whether or not he completely 'pulls it off'.

I think you are right about Susannah - she's gung ho, but she HAS learned to feel the dance properly more I think to internalise it rather than 'throw it out from the front', and it's THAT with her enthusiasm which is leading to her turning in very good performances.

I'm always nervous watching Sophie too - and it's rarely 'joyful' but she's nice to watch. I mostly feel relief and a bit of disappointment, but I was pleased this week.

I don't know if she's got it in her to 'belong' to the dance, but I keep hoping.

And watch Ash, he's very good, surprised and impressed me last week and this.

We're having sardines for tea. Rolled in oatmeal and dry fried. Can't believe we have got this far with little mention of lady Voldemort (she who can't be named)

I am blaming the OP for my Back Ache as they are denying me sympathy or therapy to get me back to my usual flexibility.

Knees are fine despite the cold, just don't expect me to run down the stairs.

PS I relent. If this thread reaches page three, Lady V (thanks Sally_Scott) can come out of the corner. It's exhausting chasing after everyone with the smelly ink and stuff.

Mark - Just the most adorable man. Love his quite charm, gentle humour and soft Northern accent. I'm going to really miss the joy and warmth he and Iveta bring to the dance floor and the ITT sofa.

Sophie - She's beautiful and has that intriguing, indefinable certain something about her. She also seems like a thoroughly nice person. I'd like to see her win but then I'd also like to see her deserve it a bit more than she does at the moment.

Abbey - I'm not sure about Abbey's personality. Sometimes I find her charming and funny, at other times I find it a bit contrived for a 27 year old WAG to be so naive. I also find the way she squirms under the camera a bit off putting. I can't really pretend that I've found any of her dances anything other than pleasant. She doesn't excite me.

Patrick - Sometimes people are quiet and interesting and sometimes they're just quiet and... quiet. I think Patrick may fall into the latter category. I like his partnership with Anya (she just seems to accept the way he is and they seem very comfortable together) and he does bring a real joy for music and dancing but there's always something not quite right about his dancing that distracts me from just enjoying watching him.

Susanna - Previously found her ballroom inelegant and her latin messy and over the top. I'm still not sure if she turned a corner with her waltz or just found a really nice dress. I did enjoy her Paso though - Kevin's tendency to be a bit overblown worked with the space and the drama of the dance.

Ben - He's a good hearted soul and a beautiful man but Kristina is using the tackiest tricks to distract from his lack of ability.

Ashley - Who? I don't mind him but maybe that's part of the problem. Also the attempts to make him appeal to the Harry Judd/Louis Smith demographic (cowboy paso? Seriously?) are a bit undignified.

ETA - I must make one mention of her. I recently watched the documentary Good Hair and am now even more fascinated to know what they did with her hair on Saturday.

OK time to take this thread seriously.

Suzanna - Liked the waltz and her energy but wasn't a particular fan until BAM KFMFG - now I am obsessed until Saturday anyway.

Sophie - Wanted to like this couple, Brendan was my second fav after Pasha (until BAM KFMFG) and had high hopes for Sophie. Have enjoyed all her dances and think she has done a good job. Her Charleston was my favourite one ever (I know nothing about Charleston but enjoyed it the most). But am always left with a feeling of wanting more from her - she isn't quite hitting the spot for me.

Ben - I so wanted him to be great. I have a vested interest in any evidence that proves big men can dance. Not sure if it is Ben who can't or Kristina who is playing to his strengths and won't let him. I still think he could, but he isn't ,,, so for me would be next pick to leave.

Abbey - Moves well and has produced some pleasing performances. Not really warming to her and still not too sure who she is - face of Matalan?

Patrick - Really believe he is the only real dancer among the men. He dances from the heart and is the only one I would ask to dance and the only one I believe could freestyle if there was no routine to execute. But he is frustrating - like a footballer who makes a brilliant skilled attack on goal only to hit the post - again!

Mark - Bless. Think he has more natural ability than many give him credit for. But although I think he is better than Ben he's but not as good as the rest. Love him to bits and am sad when people talk of him as a comic performer. There is a difference in laughing with a performer and laughing at a performer and I put him in the first camp.

Ashley - Doing a nice clean professional job but somehow not hitting the spot for me. I feel really neutral about him. I can't believe I am thinking this but think I might have become bored with Ola's routines which given she was my favourite after Flavia is a surprise to me.

Is that everyone? Yep seems so.....

Mark - Hard working, amiable and humble. Quiet but warm relationship with his pro partner. Very watchable, the least ridiculous 'joke' contestant we had on SCD.

Sophie - Again, not a loud character. Seems apologetic when she's praised, like many British people I know and love. Maybe she suffers from stage fright like Heather Small, but Brendan seemed to have at least created some really memorable dances for her (Charleston, Foxtrot and Quickstep). Not sure if I trust myself for watching her without hiding behind cushions when she performs her rumba though...

Abbey - Misunderstood. Vain, of course, but then Gavin Henson was vain too but appeared to be misunderstood by some forumites here, so maybe that's it? She made exquisite ballroom lines but must watch to improve her techniques from now. Aljaž must tie a string around their waists when they practise their next ballroom!

Susanna - Not the tidiest dancer but she doesn't do things by half that's for sure. Surprised by her waltz and impressed with her Paso (though it was clear Kevin was the star of that dance). Very controversial celeb in this series. She must now prove that she can dance latin routines at an acceptable level and I hope Kevin pushes for techniques at this stage of the competition.

Patrick - Lovely work attitude and finally see the bond he made with his pro partner Anya from last night's ITT. He's an enigma to me. Some aspects of his dancing was marvellous to watch while his technical faults are very obvious too, which made his dancing often appear beautiful and jarring at the same time.

Ashley - Amazing progress for so little a time to train. Beginning to see that it may not completely be Ola's fault or her weak choreography that seemed to put him in the shadow from other celebs. He must do a really corking latin number (hopefully producers are kind to them and gave them appropriate music to dance to), and please Ola, no more knee slides or pivots!

Ben - Slow burner, perhaps too slow. Perhaps we should lace his food with what Kevin was having last Saturday. Gentle giant but not a great dancer (well, not as great as the judges would have us believe) and he's probably there because people really like how unassuming he's coming across on screen...

That's it.
