Are some scorpions not venomous or do they take out the venom in a lab?

I've always believed that a sting from a scorpions tail can kill a human. Yet they put scorpions in with people. What's the deal?

The smaller the stinger on a scorpion, the less venomous it is. As the ones used in IAC are pretty small, there's probably no venom in it at all. All spiders are venomous, but only certain ones have venom that is actually dangerous to humans.
