I have a Samsung GS3 which is great when it behaves itself.

A few weeks ago the touchscreen completely died rending it useless, I took it to the EE shop and they sent it for repair. 3 weeks later, I got it back, all fixed.

Now one week on Im having problems again. This time its when I plug the charger in it isnt registering and you have to wiggle it a bit. Obviously just a loose connection so my question is this; will they have to send it off again? I really am reluctant to get it sent off for the sake of a couple of loose connections that could probably be fixed in 10 mins.

Im going to have to go back to the shop but just thought i would ask here of other's experiences and wisdom.

Or, at the risk of invalidating the warranty, would I be able to take it somewhere else to fix?

Have you tried another charger?

That's a common fault with charger cables not the phone itself.

Ah shame, quite a bit of bad luck to have on one phone then.

As far as I know EE don't do phone repairs in store. Some carphone warehouse stores do but the feedback there is mixed. That aside you'll have to send it off wherever you go, with the exception of if you can find a walk-in authorized service centre.

I found a place on my local market who need to send it off but they say it will be back in a couple of days (as opposed to the month EE tend to take). I'll have to go without a phone, like in the olden days!

I've NEVER been lucky with phones, I had one where the screen would tap itself in one area, I've had speakers go, all manner of things over the years.

If you need to send it off then the quickest way is to do it yourself.

Going through a store is just like asking someone at the office to take something to the post office for you and get it back. It is always going to be slower.

Right, an update. Found a place on my local market that fixed it for £25, and only took my phone for 48 hours. I think I coped alright without. It seems fixed, I plugged it in and it charged straight away, no messing. That was on Monday.

However, now there are further problems. My phone has been on charge all night and currently stands at 55%. I've changed charger and it doesn't seem to have improved. Of course my first port of call is the market place where they supposedly fixed it, but if I wanted to take it back to EE, have I now invalidated the warranty by taking it elsewhere?

I'll be honest, I have good mind to check it out of the window and just buy a bloody new one. Sick of it.
