I think he struggled with the task more than he let on but put a brave face on it because by keeping his reaction minimal, he knew he would be much less likely to get voted to do the next one. You could see his facial expression during the task seemed forced, like he wanted to express his discomfort but knew by doing so he would be giving the producers the footage they wanted to set him up for more trials, so he held it in. This would also explain why when he returned to camp he was confident it would be Joey next time.

Joey didn't know what the very quick hand on a clock is for but when it came to counting 60 seconds he suddenly got it.

Exactly. Why are people trying to defend him ? He's giving the public what he thinks they want for votes. Except he's a terrible actor and the things he comes up with that he supposedly doesn't know aren't remotely entertaining. Why would anybody think that was somebody worth championing ?

Yes, and why would you want to admit it? Surely it was seen as an embarrassing thing to be a bit of a dunce in the class and the last thing you would want to admit once you left school? These celeb shows seem to celebrate it as though it's a badge of honour to be thick.

Do you people realise that being able to count to 60 doesn't mean that you can use an analog clock? I could count to 10 when I was little but I sure as hell couldn't use an analog clock.

Joey said he knows how to tell the time when it's a digital clock, he was raised with that as the main method of telling the time. He's also dyslexic and it's harder for some people with it to grasp the use of an analog clock.

Not saying he is or isn't fake, just making sure people aren't blindly hating just because Joey may not be the sharpest tool in the shed.

The camp mates live with him 24/7, and they have sussed him out.

I don't get Matthews logic about why he is fake (because hes winning the tasks) that would only make sense if he was winning intelligence tasks. You could be thick and be competitive as well.

Having said that though, I do agree with him. Hes probably not the sharpest tool in the box, but hes definitely milking his thickness for all its worth. What annoys me more is why being thick is seen as a way to be popular....what is so attractive about it?
