I ask on behalf of my Nan.

She wants to know why there aren't any nice boys playing nice tunes anymore.

She wants to know why they don't write proper songs like this these days.

"It's got a nice tune and they look really clean" she said.

That song has been removed but the comments below show that it was not a nice song for Nans. Don't play her that, play her some Brotherhood Of Man or Abba - she will thank you. Start with Save All Your Kisses For Me - my Nan's most favourite song EVER!

Is this a band? sounds like a drum machine or sequencer - I think your Nan maybe right. This must have cost about £20 to make. She's probably referring to the days when people generally used to actually play their instruments and knew more than just three chords.

I'm frequently of the opinion that many people, particularly those of the younger generation have a very narrow perspective when it comes to music.
A bit of a trawl through YouTube, will find music from all eras, enough to satisfy everyone. It doesn't have to be on the telly or the radio.

In these days of "chasing instant success," common sense will tell anyone that most young "boys" who've been in the business for, "five minutes" won't have had the time to actually learn their craft or train their voices. No wonder most of 'em can't hold a note.

You've hit the nail right on the head.

Life is too short for 'nice'. When it comes to music, rock especially, the dirty and gritty the better

The song is pretty relaxing, except the chorus. The video is kind of terrifying...

Exactly. Whenever I read about nice music, it makes me think of bland MOR stuff (think Adele, Emeli Sande, Westlife) or what I call 'granny' music (think Cliff Richard and Daniel O'Donnell ). Nice music is boring and probably has all the charisma of a wet fish

Here's some "granny music" for you, well I've had this for over 20 years.

Remember there are grannys and grannys - one granny I know always tells me this is her favorite record. Never judge a granny by her cover - this is by Captain Beefheart and is called Hot Rats.
