Mobile phone advice
Want to buy a phone next week on PAYG as im on 02. Something to browse the net use my fav message boards, play games like bubble witch and candy crush which means a decent size screen and watch Sky tv on.
Im on wifi so data wont be a prob until I leave the house. Ive been looking at a few online sites and seen a second hand Samsung Galaxy s2 phone at 120. Looks great 16gb memory high mp camera and a decent size screen but with it at 120 second hand to be fair I could buy a phone brand new for that price so wondered on here if anyone can help. Looked in carphone warehouse and all the models looked small except a huwaii chinese phone g510 i think the model was but unsure if I can get sky through this phone or my fav games. Tried phones4u and they had a horrible selection of phones they were just too small. Any help. |

Motorola Moto G? Possibly limited availability just yet, but looks very good for the price.

Yes, Moto G would be a wiser investment than a used S2 - a decent HD screen (4.5" isn't overly small and is bigger than the S2's 4.3" screen).
Official Android updates have stopped for the S2 I believe and the screen is not as sharp at a lower resolution. If I had a budget of well under £200, the Moto G is out in front on its own as the best phone on the market at that price point. Get the 16GB version if you can stretch to it. |

Bought a Moto G Wednesday in Phones4U and all I can say, you won’t find anything close for this price, £120 + £10 top-up and no network lock.
The guy who served me offer me the phone for £99 if I was able to upgrade but because I use MNVO’s this was not an option for me but worth bearing in mind if that’s a standard o2 PAYG sim you have there. |

In this case, I agree the Moto G is the way to go at that price range, or perhaps a second-hand Nexus 4?

When I went in there they kept trying to sell me the galaxy 3 mini. CW tryed to sell me the huwaii
This is one of the things that puts me off going to real shops be it CPW or P4U and that is the sales tripe but let’s be fair this is part of their job but you just have to be firm with them and give them the impression that you are going to walk if they don’t get on with it.I used a P4U that’s set up in a PCWorld come Curry’s and was served by a trainee with the manager hovering and he did ask if I mind telling him what network I was on to see if he could find something better but when I told him I use Ovivo that was the end of any sales talk and he stopped looking at his VDU and pressed the sales button. The other trick is to go into the shop 10 minutes before closing time then there’s not time for Bulls poo or just tell them you’re on your tea break and have 5 minute but don’t forget to keep looking at your watch. ![]() End of the day though just tell them straight you’re not interested and make the sale. |

Pretty much every single person in this thread has suggested the Moto G, so that's your answer.
Unless you're willing to stump up more money and buy the Nexus 5. http://www.google.co.uk/nexus/5/ |

Get the Nexus 5 or Moto G depending on how much you are prepared to pay. Amazon have the 8GB Moto G in stock for £135 if you don't want to go to a phone shop. The 16GB model is there for £159 but won't be available until December 12th.

But the Moto G isnt supported for Sky Go which is a main feature I need.

Rumour has it that the device whitelisting is going to be removed from a new version of the skygo app next week.
It's unclear to me if those rumours are referring to a tablet version specifically. |

Start with the list of supported Sky Go devices and find one that you can afford, preferably new.

Quick question I want a suitable case and wondered what the best one is. Storage-wise, a 16GB MicroSD card off Amazon is £13. Case? No idea, as I haven't got an S3 Mini but YouTube should have a few hands-on reviews and the Amazon user reviews are usually worth a browse - cases are quite a personal taste thing - there's plenty out there. |

Yes, I heard this morning that Asda were selling them for £99 and immediately thought of this thread - glad you got it for £99. It's a good phone for that price, I'd say.

I have a 16gb sd card at home but wanted to upgrade it to 32 gb but ive heard that its a problem with sandisk not working on them at that size. Not sure if thats true or not just what people reviewing have said. What case should I go for safety? I couldnt find any hard cases on amazon just leather ones. |

Amazon is a odd thing. Last night phone was 150 quid this morning 99 quid and 4pm today 175 pound.
Is this black friday syndrome? |
