Sony hasn't officially announced all the video services coming to the UK but TSA have got the console and confirm at launch PS4 will have BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport, Demand 5 service and also the IGN app. No sign of Netflix, Lovefilm, NowTV, ITV, 4OD or BlinkBox. However these services will be added overtime especially Netlifx - as their goal is to be on every device.

Wonder why the BBC couldn't get an iPlayer app for the Xbox One but could on the PS4.

Maybe MS and the BBC are having another disagreement over the XBL Gold paywall like with the 360 version...

I was thinking that but surely Microsoft would have just have stuck with the same agreement. BBC are also brining out a BBC News app on the PS4 so they seem invested in the platform along with the BBC Sport app.

Perhaps the PS4 app is a relatively simple variation on the version available on PS3 and various Smart devices, whereas the Xbox One version will need all sorts of Kinect stuff building in? So it could just be a time issue.

That said, there's no iPlayer app for Windows 8 so maybe there are other factors involved.

On the subject of PS4, will it be among the first devices to offer the BBC's forthcoming 4k Ultra HD content?

I would expect Netflix to be on the PS4 from launch, given that it's on the US machines.

Only if they can localize it in time. Then again Netflix is on the Vita in the US (it was there from launch) but is a no show on the UK store.
