BIB i dont think sophie is good enough to win, she is great in hold but she's too vanilla in the latin - she gets the steps right but its like she is holding back - maybe it's cos she is shy an is afraid to let herself go (i hope that makes sense)
Winning strictly is possible whether they are good enough at dancing or not. I do think that Sophie is not worse that Chris Hollins, although both had their own strengths and weaknesses.

I think they will take the popular vote and will be very difficult to beat. Love to see them on the Tour and can't wait to see what they come up with as their Showdance.

I think they have potential but there are still some contenders that could surprise us.

Susanna is 4th on my list of order of people I think should/want to win. I think Natalie should win, but if she doesn't, I'd want Patrick (my fave), then Abbey, then Susanna. But if she does win, she won't be the worst dancer or least deserving person to win, in my opinion obviously, as the GBP vote for who they want, so therefore it could be said that person always deserves to win as that's who the public want.

Ben winning would be a bad result (unless he improves). The best dancer doesn't awlays win but celebs like Tom and Chris were at least capable dancers. Ben needs a lot of work in the next few weeks to be considered a contender - moreso than someone like Gethin who was pants to begin with but got better as it went along.

BAM! Suz and Kevfrom MFgrimbsy (sic)!

Great news, for however long they continue as favs to win. Betting odds are very fickle and I'm sure they will have changed again after this weekend's dances.

Regarding 'not the best dancers winning' - Tom Chambers cannot be put in the same category as Chris Hollins. That's a deep insult. Tom returned to perform on SCD last year as part of the cast from Top Hat. He's continuing dance as a career because he's a dancer. Chris Hollins ... is not.

If Ben were to win, of all the celebs remaining, I would feel cheated. As fas as I'm concerned he's the weakest celeb left in the competition.

I agree with the above opinions (Sid et alt) that she is indeed very likely going to win. She is a decent dancer, very popular pro, good chemistry and stand out dances (though not always because the dance quality). Add to that the fact that she is pretty much the darling of TPTB and perfect for the voting demographic (middle england) even though she is a woman, and voila...

Still, Ben and Sophie have a slight chance too if they maintain both their learning curves and love for the production team (judges aside).
I'm feeling stupid as I can't work out TPTB!

TPTB - the powers that be (ie BBC producers).

I am usually the first to cry BBC bias and leap in the air with fists raised, but don't go along with it in this instance.

That all makes perfect sense to me and I agree 100%. For me she just lacks that extra bit of magic.

She would be an outlier though - so far men are more likely to win than.women, and she is older than the usual female winners. If we go by previous winners, we can usually say female winners are under 30, and the best dancer in their series. Male winners are more varied in.age and ability. I'm sure Monkseal has more specifics in terms of average ages/scores etc.

Same here, she's very nice and a good dancer but she doesn't inspire me. She's very lucky to have been partnered with Kevin, whoever that lucky lady was always gonna be in with a chance. I think Kevin and Sophie would have been an interesting partnership, however Kevin and anyone will do for me, what a star he has proved to be this series

Kev resembles Sophie's husband physically and both are shorter than Sophie. I think they would have been an interesting pairing but the height difference made it impossible. I believe Sophie's 5'9" and Kev's 5'8".

Don't worry Heidi, I kept seeing it pop up everywhere and didn't know what it stood for either! Thanks for asking on our behalf

Of course, on that basis, so is Mark "Hairspray" Benton.

I agree that Tom was a better dancer than Chris, but I also recall that, at the time, I wanted Chris to win his series, whereas I very much wanted Rachel to beat Tom. I suppose it also comes down to how inspired you are by the other contestants, doesn't it?

The two are not comparable. Edna Turnblad does not dance.

She has a great chance and right now the momentum is with her but I still think that there could be a few surprises .

I don't think that she's going to win. I still think that Ben and Sophie have a great chance of winning . And if she does win, it will be mostly due to Kevin imo (no offense to her ).

My answer was referring to Sophie, not Susanna!!

It doesn't hurt that Kevin From Grimsby is practically a meme by this point, I suppose.

My post was lighthearted, but I think Mark and the Edinburgh News would beg to differ on that score.

I'm not sure that this has been tested, yet.

I knew Sid, I knew!!

(I'm a bit of a girlie swot, though.)

With regard to Susanna, she has had two really well received dances on the trot, so I imagine this has helped with the odds. I will just be pleased if she is in the final, though.

She's been in the bottom half of the leaderboard a couple of times and escaped the DDO. That indicates she has some support.

That's true.

She is one of the four I am hoping get to the final, but I'm not sure that she can win. However, getting to the final means that we at least get to see all of their dances.

No harm in asking but a google search would have been quicker than typing what you wrote
