Oh Peter, this isn't about whether Lucy looks good or not. It's about her feeling able to criticise anyone for making money from their looks.

She didn't criticise Rebecca for making money out of being able to swim quicker than the majority of the world's population, or Steve for being able to pot snooker balls. She's just a bit of a hypocrite, and I don't like that.

I've given Lucy the benefit of the doubt so far but she clearly has hypocritical tendencies. If her comment about media whores wasn't enough now there is this debate. Apparently she feels uncomfortable about her body

As much as I hate to say this, Lucy and Rebecca are coming across as just irritated that someone better looking in their opinion is on the show.

She thinks it's up to the model to change people's perceptions but self righteously informs people she's had a boob job and botox because bigger boobs and no wrinkles is more beautiful.

Why is Amy the model at fault but Lucy the actress is somehow immune from blame?

If she's so passionate about it then she should do something instead of expecting other people to do it for her.

You could nearly apply that to anything, say I'm a small quiet man with zero sports skills, do endless strong/competitive men competing in sports on tv affect my self-image.. well yes if I decide to compare myself to everyone I see..

tbh as a model you must feel like a piece of meat with dirty old men ogling over you. It's a dirty/shady business if you knew what went on.. I doubt Amy is innocent either, when she comes out of the jungle you will see.

Lucy has it in for Amy (jealousy?) When Alfonso told Lucy she might be ill cos she doesn't wear enough clothes, her reaction was "oh he wouldn't say that if it was Amy". Amy wasn't even in their camp then so that comment says more about her jealousy than it does Alfonso!

With Lucy's strange logic, if women like Amy didn't exist, she wouldn't have to go and get plastic surgery to make herself feel better

Unfortunately for all imperfect looking people everywhere (probably 99%of the population) there are better looking people on the planet. Time to get over it.

Don't get me wrong I'm not agreeing with all that Lucy said however I think it's more fair to highlight that Lucy's point actually was that the image that constantly stares young impressionable girls in the face as being the most desirable and most attractive is one that for the many is very difficult or impossible to achieve and therefore can lead them to feeling crap about themselves and ending up doing things which they end up regretting when older. Such as having a boob job or injections in the face etc like Lucy herself did as she was uncomfortable with her own looks.

I also however really don't like how it all perhaps inadvertently ended up almost making Amy look or feel like she should apologise for being gorgeous. Which of course is nonsense. She's naturally beautiful and shouldn't hide that or feel bad about that at all.

The whole debate is a tricky one as you can understand it to a degree from both sides. Which is why as big mo said its best to drop the whole thing otherwise it could go on forever

Yes, but given the fact she herself is now in the public eye and making herself into the conventionally attractive woman (big tits and smooth face) artificially. Is she really in the best position to criticise a model for pressures she inadvertently puts on people when Lucy is directly contributing to that industry too, especially with her lads mags shoots?

I just disagreed that it was somehow the fault of Amy's line of work but Lucy's wasn't relevant.

If Lucy has done shoots for lad mags in the past, she probably may knows what it will be like to feel like a piece of meat, so she proably asked the question because of this. Amy is in quite the same position, so may wanted to hear about how someone else feels to be judged.

as i say i'm not in agreement with all that Lucy said but I thought it was just fair to highlight what 'her' point was in the face of people just labeling her as a hypocrite without taking that in to consideration. not everyone will agree with her point but either way its her reason and explanation for why she has felt the need to 'modify' herself under the pressure that she rightly or wrongly felt. i will add though that i've heard this reasoning many times from lots of people so I don't think she's alone in that.

the lads mags thing is a question mark for me though i have to admit. how long ago were these shoots out of interest?

if she was pretending to not have had those things done you'd have a point. in fact they are the very substance of her argument. not an argument I entirely agree with but its real enough to her.
