Thats what I felt was happening to Amy. Just because that women from Emmerdale (is it) feels bad about herself that gives her no excuse to pick on Amy. Like Alphonso said whats wrong with appreciating beauty.

That whole thing was a load of bullshit. Amy is fit, and surely that is a good thing. But the others are just JEALOUS. Shouldn't Amy be the one crying because she has no Olympic gold medal. How on earth is it Amy's responsibility to challenge standards and images in her industry and yet Lucy, who is also in the public eye can sit and admit to botox and a boob job doesn't have any responsibility?

God, I found that whole 'beauty' conversation so tedious. All three - Amy, Lucy and Rebecca - were really getting on my nerves with their sanctimony.

That's a sad but very real truth.

Amy is gorgeous from head to toe…. and seems to be quite a nice person as well, BUT they definitely edited her to be the "bitch" tonight and it was soooo obvious that she would be picked for the trial.

Amy did not shove Rebecca out of the way when she went to sit next to Matthew, and for Rebecca to suggest she did was WAY over the top and exaggerated.

Rebecca is a lovely girl, but she is definitely taking out her insecurities on Amy at the moment. The abuse she got on twitter last year was totally uncalled for and its understandable how that would have a deep effect, but don't blame the pretty girl for it !!

I think they were commenting on her career choice and the fact that they thought beauty pageants reinforce the idea that women aren't good enough unless they look perfect - not attacking her because she's pretty.
I'm not saying it was necessarily the right time and place for Lucy to take her to task over what she does for a living but in fairness, it wasn't Amy's looks she was knocking, just her making a living from them.
As for Rebecca, I'm really sorry that her self confidence has been brought so low by idiotic people who can probably never hope to achieve a fraction of what she has.

I think that is disgusting how Lucy and Rebecca expressed their passive aggressive insecuries like that on to Amy!! Trust me no one has image hang ups like myself!! ....but to just go off on some one like that and personally attack them especially when they have been nothing but kind and decent to you is absolutely disgusting!!! It's not Amy's fault they can't handle being in the presence of a beauty queen!

well she should only have a nose job if her insecurities are so bad it will effect her for the rest of her life. at some point tho she's either gotta see shrink about it, or get over it, or actually take some action and change it to what she thinks will look better.

For what it's worth, I think she looks great - absolutely glowing with health, and fabulous hair.
But, as you say, if she were a male medal winner, her looks wouldn't be up for discussion at all....which I think is sort of what she was getting at.

Her counter-argument would probably be that she felt the pressure to have that cosmetic work done and she resents the fact that pressure existed in the first place.

Well I'd rather my daughter looked up to Rebecca than Amy willerton... I want her to be judged by her achievements not her beauty
