Joey

Before everyone starts shouting about ANOTHER Joey Essex thread i'll apologise. I didn't have time to look through them all to see if my point had already been raised.

I've been really impressed with Joey's trial efforts. He may not be the sharpest tool in the box but he's def a team player. I tip my hat to him cos he's not flapped (too much), he's just got on with it & got the job done.

Maybe now that the public can see that he's a trouper, they'll pick others for trials.

Be interesting to see how Amy fairs tonight!

the trials seem to have been really easy so far, do they get any harder, I seem to remember Fashanu having to wrestle with a lion in his year?

Not sure that I would describe the eating trial as 'easy'!

I wouldn't call it hard to eat something unpleasant, a lot of people do that to spice their sex life up

It just shows how the producers edit out want they don't want you to see.
According to the papers today he took hours to get the last trial done. He thought he was going to get eaten alive by the crocs

I get the feeling maybe the producers, or at the very least Ant and Dec, were expecting Joey to refuse to do the tasks or make a hash of them as Dec has said a few times now that he's pleasantly surprised Joey hasn't "done a Flanagan".

That's what I mean misslibertine, I think a lot of people (me included) expected him to be a bit of a wuss

I also thought it was so nice how he was keen for the two camps to merge so they would be fighting with each other rather than against. I dont like the territorial way campmates act every year just before the two camps join - including some of them this year.

Agree, I actually think that Joey is actually just a nice (albeit not so clever) boy

It's also helped that the producers have given him help with the odd task. The sand task was unfair towards Matthew. I wonder if the producers allowed Joey to go over the time limit? I should have timed him to see if they did.

Excellent Pitman, ROFLMAO .. thank you!

I like Joey, he's good entertainment and a harmless chap, what's the big problem if he acts a bit dumber than he is? He can't be that stupid as he's got the glamour girl massaging him... sour grapes anyone?

I agree, that's why I was pleased to see this thread among all the "I hate Joey Essex" ones. I think, intelligence (or lack thereof ) aside, he's quite affable and pleasant to watch. Harmless, certainly.
