Anna Windass - absolutely dreadful character.

Didn't like her when she first came in, quite liked her when she was 'between relationships', can't bear her now she's a shouty fishwife who doesn't impose proper boundaries on her dreadful daughter.
I used to like her character, but recently she has started to irritate me. I think her and Faye are here for the long haul though.
Terrible mother, dragged gary up to be a reformed criminal, now spoils faymien and cant see the woods for the trees. social services need to take the brat back, that would wipe the smile of badass's face.

It's not so much that she can't control Faye as that she's too stupid to notice that the other girl ( who appeared all of a sudden out of nowhere) is having a bad influence on her.
Twice now she's told Faye to look into her eyes to tell her the truth, st Anna doesn't want to accept her fish killing bully child is in fact all these things and not an angel.

I wasn't talking about posters on this thread.
She, along with Tina, has been ruined by overexposure this year. It feels like she is never off the screen these days. I think in this month alone she has only missed two episodes, at least we had a full week off from Tina. She needs to open her eyes and stop being so blinkered when it comes to Faye!

Faye was always going to be like that. Unfortunately she landed an adoptive parent who is totally flawed. Gary is the example, who has sorted himself out despite, not because of her.
Yes Windass is a nasty piece of work, who now has the 'boyfriend/partner' who is as equally blinded, with a very aggressive streak, which gives her the confidence to be as nasty as she pleases, and she enjoys it.

What about her rude, condescending attitude towards Tim and Sally? Alright, Tim is an idiot and Sally can be a bit up herself but Anna should at least attempt to be cordial to them, for her beloved Faye's sake. She already suspects that Faye and Grace are responsible for throwing stones at Mary's van and bullying Simon, but she has no concrete evidence so she can't punish Faye for it or refuse to defend her.

No offense but, concrete evidence? She's supposed to be a mother, not a judge in a court room. She should punish how she sees fit and not have to wait until Faye actually tells her the truth. Hasn't it crossed her mind that kids lie?

Punish Faye for something that she doesn't even know for sure she's done? That is hardly a fair way to go about things.

She does know she's done it though, she just wants to believe Faye is an innocent little angel, like always. She saw how nasty Grace and Faye were towards Nick at the Halloween party and she's heard nasty comments from Grace many times. Faye's also shown her nasty side in the past, so it's not really a huge leap to believe that she'd be capable of this. As the parent, Anna can't believe every word that Faye says, she has to go off of her own instinct.
