Their marriage can't have been solid for Anna to end it that way so not exactly unrealistic.

The only time I've liked her is when she smacked that orange Trollop Tina

It was solid. It was ended as the actor was uncerimoniously given the boot. She had lost weight, they glammed her up a bit, so she could turn Owen's head. All to incorporate a horrible child only 10 percent of viewers give a rats ass about

Yip. She's well worth a good seeing-to.

Sometimes I like her, like when she has her moments with Roy, but then in other scenes I can't stand her. I wish she'd sort Faye out and stop acting like she's a perfect angel. Surely she can see how shifty Faye is. It does my nut in

Remember her first scenes? that sums up her character. trying to steal a kitchen from a man who is trying to earn a living, horrible little tea leaf.

I remember her cackling like an old crone with her brother (never seen again after the s/l finished), her scraggy haired husband and her thuggish son, whilst, as you say, doing an honest man out of his hard earned money.

Pity Joe's oranged tart didn't go overboard with him, but that's another story.

Then they made her quite likeable, now she seems to have morphed into the nasty character again, although this is probably due to Mr Blackbum's random character machine.

As to the way she is with the brat that is Faye, there is some truth in the characterisation,

I have a distant, but not distant enough relative who is exactly the same with her kids, when they do something wrong, its always someone else's fault, he got in with the wrong crowd, she is being bullied. She cannot see that the wrong crowd STARTS with her boy and the girl is as big a bully as her brother. Some parents are not only blinkered, they seem to be thick as well.

Perhaps Anna had a bit of a shock when Grace's mother took exactly the same stance as her, in "its not my angel, it's your kid". Bit you on the ar*e there Anna!

I'm glad you said that Desperate House, also it's good how they portray the Windasses and their brats I think,
Anna indeed is one of those parents who will never tackle her kid's bad behaviour and will always try to apportion blame onto their kid's victim.

They are so caught up with appearances and the image they want to portray that they think that denying everything they get accused of is the best course of action. And staying popular with the brat is the priority.
That's not a mother. that's someone who can't think as an adult and who's terrified of not being liked by her offspring to the point she will happily sacrifice their ability to learn boundaries and become responsible human beings for the sake of her own perceived popularity and opinion of herself.

Anna is an utterly selfish, blinkered, narrow minded, gutless fishwive who could raise a smile nevermind teach a child right from wrong. She's just who she is and we all know someone a lot like her, and we all know what we think of them.

Anna - beautiful sexy woman

However, she is a ruined character and, something I don't get is why she hasn't actually divorced Eddy yet? I'd have thought she'd be back to her maiden name by now?

Was she married to Eddie? I thought they just lived together.

He was Eddie Windass, she is Anna Windass, the clue is in the name, hello?

Hate the way they got rid of Eddie, he was a good, typical bloke character with a bit of quirkiness. A very identifiable sort of scallywag, the sort that Corrie used to deliver so well.

The writers being a bunch of Uni rejects probly haven't the foresight and lifeskills to appreciate why a character like Eddie is a prerequisite for any kitchen sink drama.
Throwing him away so lightly is like chucking out the coffee cream in your quality street. It mightn't be your exact fav but all the others are made a bit more ordinary as a whole by it's leaving.
OMG i'm really philosophical this morning

Err hello you can change your name to whatever you want.
Wiki (and I know its not reliable) says "In July 2009, it is revealed that Eddie and Anna are not in fact married, as he proposes to her. She rejects him and it becomes clear that he has proposed many times previously."

Er hello, you are wrong.

A big storyline was made about the fact that Anna and Eddie were never married, when Gary first found out that he was actually a bastard.

Er hellow, that just makes her sound even worse. Why wouldn't she marry her son's father and live as a family for all that time? What a ghastly dreadful assumption for me to make, eh guys? LOL
Maybe she had her reasons but maybe she wanted to remain footloose in her head because she's always been an unfaithful tramp deep down. Gary no doubt could be anyone's son.

She is a ghastly woman who thinks she and her brat are above others.

All the Corrie women get mad and screechy if anyone dare suggest that their child is less than perfect: Leanne, Sally, Deidrie, Michelle, Eileen, Liz, Gail and so on and so on. It is realistic, it's true, but not ONE mum who is open minded about their child?

The dads tend to do better, Dev and Peter for example. Hmm..
