Bought a box thinking they might be lovely, but my god they taste so cheap and nasty with no flavour in the centres. Also the wrappers are cheap, they used to be all colourful and shiny. Never again and nothing like they used to be.

Half way through a box I got last week and they seem fine. I only eat them once a year though.

I was in Tesco again today and the Roses were in proper tins......it was Quality Street that had 'tins' that turned out to be cardboard..........

The whole point of buying those choccies was to get the tin to keep things in !

Roses is actually one of the few "tins" that is still a tin. Quality Street, Heroes, Celebrations are now either cardboard or plastic. The price of metal means the tins were more expensive to produce than the sweets inside.

They are also usually 700-800g, down from 1kg, but the supermarkets want to knock them out for £4 each and also not make a loss - so something had to give.

Going back a good 13/14 years ago I think the last time I remember seeing them was 2000 time. These a d the strawberry ones were my favourite, they have even changed the strawberry ones, not keen on them now at all. I think out of the selection tins roses and quality street for me and my tastes are the worst.

Coffee creams are a rare beast nowadays. They seem to have been removed from almost everything which is a shame because I always liked them. I hear plenty of people mourning the demise of the coffee cream so why have they disappeared? We don't all hate them!

I miss Coffee creams too If anyone is desperate for a 'Coffee Cream Fix', try Thornton's, they sell boxes of Coffee Creams.

I agree. I was actually so disappointed in my tin of Roses last week I was going to start a thread about them.
Particularly awful were the orange and strawberry creams. They tasted really artificial! I have never left chocolate uneaten before but I actually threw these in the bin.

I've been trying to make up a list of the ones I liked that are gone. I've no regrets for the coffee creams, but the others I can think of were

Plain chocolate Marzipan
Black Cherry Creme
Brazil nut toffee
Chocolate caramels
Milk chocolate and Bourneville mini bars

Any others?

They are still in the Roses boxes. I am allergic, so toss them out.
