Predictable and boring, change the format ITV
The Wizard

Yet another year of the same entrance helicopter drop into the jungle followed by a cross country race for camp and the same old Crock Creek / Snake Rock camp battles. Same predictable type people getting voted to do the same old trials.

We all know that the 'look at me' fancy myself model diva who nobody has heard of wont make it past the first week of vote-ofs and we can all predict how this show will end. 3 zelebs doing the celebrity cyclone, winning a full prepared meal for camp followed by the crowning of the jungle Queen/King and the coming out show where we get to see them taking a well needed bath, the compulsory on route trip to the local McDonald's and pigging out and them selling out to the British tabloids and slagging each other off.

FFS ITV change the bleeding record. I've already lost interest. How many years have we got to put up with the same lazy format? Even a show like Big Brother makes the effort to make changes every year. This is just exactly the same thing year upon year. Bored now!

When this show first aired I knew who all the Celebs were. They may have been C or D listers but at least we knew who they were. Last few years I can name less than half and ITV seem obsessed with chavvy Essex thicky nobodys off ITV2 who don't even deserve the airtime. They really are scraping the barrel now. To say that half of these idiots are Z Listers is being generous. Even Ant and Dec's continuity jokes have become boring and predictable. This show went stale several years ago and ITV just want to keep doing the same over and over again.

don't be unfair, we had the namechange last year of the challenge into the 'dingo dollars', that was brave and innovative wasn't it?

Of course it's all of the above, which is why we love it and continue to watch it year after year

The ratings would suggest that this show does not need to undergo a revamp, in fact 2 of the current highest rating shows on tele I'm a celeb and strictly are the ones that have stayed largely the same, whereas the likes of X factor and dancing on ice who change things on a weeky
Basis have ultimately suffered for it

So why do you watch it?

The worst thing are the trials, the submarine and the hang glider probably cost a fortune to make and set up but provided very little entertainment. And there must be a limit to how many times they use the bugs-on-head routine.

I agree that the format feels a little bit stale, well very stale actually. But the show is still pulling in such phenomenal viewing figures that the producers would be unwise to change it. IAC is the only show of this type that every single person I know still watches. It's very, very popular.

You only have to look at the X Factor to see what happens when you make too many changes to a successful format, the viewers don't like it and they won't stick around if you start messing about it with it. They like familiarity.

That being said I'd like them to make some subtle changes, Strictly has done this over the years and it's obviously worked well. I'd ditch the spilt camp gimmick at the start, I can see why they do it, but never really creates the conflict they are obviously hoping for.

This celebrity show is expensive to make for ITV,
they would not keep doing this if they did not get the viewers for it.

Each year they alter a few things,
I saw the first episode of last years show, and that was it.
None of the celebrity's I really knew.

But this year, i am watching it, even the ITV 2 section.
for I know off some of them Matthew Wright, Lucy Pargeter, alfonso, Steve Davis, ( he lives round the corner from me ).
Joey Essex, Never met him, but i know a fair few people who do, he came across to me originally as a idiot, and he still does.

The format does alter slightly, but i watch it for who is in the jungle, I still remember the year Canon and ball were in the jungle, that was awsome year.

The problem is that they've got a formula which is hugely successful and which gets vast amounts of viewers, so they're unlikely to change the successful formula.

I agree it does need something different..Same old Cockroaches, same old you have 40 thousand critters in there with you. Really Who Counted them?

I loved this show but I want to see some interesting people in the show, Not what we have this series! I am sick of these idiots pretending to be thicker than they really are & being rewarded for it! ITV really need to get this show back on track & not take it personal when the Fans are telling them this format is outdated & needs attention..Pretending that there isn't any problems with the format is ridiculous as is taking it personal when someone just doesn't agree with you! Not foegetting the obvious bias towards certain z listers:yawn:
