Still love my HTC One. Best HTC handset I've had over the years. Just wish EE would put out the latest update!

Yes I've had mine since launch and I would certainly still recommend it to people to buy one they are stellar devices and HTC are keeping there word with updates.

If I were in this position, I'd wait until the New Year for two reasons - there are good deals to be had and the Galaxy S5 is rumoured to be launched early in 2014.

If you use your phone for listening to music, or watch alot of Youtube video's.. Yes. It hands down beats any other phone out just now (S4, G2, Z1) for Audio quality, I don't know how i'm going to give it up, when the time comes.
I'd say the One is pretty future proof, I just got my update to 4.3 and the 4.4 update has been promised for January. |

So why was it one of your choices?! LOL
i am getting an iPad when i start uni so maybe was thinking against getting the note 3 since i will be carrying my iPad to uni all the times and two large devices doesn't make sense....? I am open minded really, any smartphone that can offer me what i want |

Battery isn't bad, imo.
Average day for me will be a bit of browsing, Wi-Fi on, on and off during the days etc. Usually still at around 50% by the end of the day. |

S5 may be good (or great) but early adopters will pay not only top price but also with mark 1 firmware which is never the best. Its worth getting a new phone after a at least a month or two after it has been on the market.
my iPhone is falling apart but like i said the htc one and s4 are all old phones with new versions coming out probably early next year...... So that leaves me with Z1,LG G2 or Note 3....not a great choice |

I've just purchased one after being a longtime S2 user. It's still the best phone on the market imho (I dislike the S4's plastic & crappy touchwiz software, and yes i know it can be removed but i still shouldn't have to do it.)
It's not going to be out of date for a long time considering it's specs & HTC's record of updating their devices. It feels more premium than an iPhone. The only thing that's a bit off is the camera, but for what i use it for (taking pissed up photos in the pub) it does the job. |

I agree, the One is hardly 'out of date'. Any of this years flagships models are hardly lacking in specifications and will be fine for quite some time.
Why not try and pick up a 2nd hand One then see what the new HTC model brings in 3 months time? I don't think i'd be willing to buy a One brand new today with the new one due so soon. I love my One BTW.

i would be getting the one on contract
If you're out of contract, why not pick up a £99 Moto G to tide you over and move to a monthly SIM only deal or something similar until the One replacement hits? |
