And I think that the dancers actually value what he says and when he praises them they are delighted.

Perfect is a strange objective too. In most art forms the art/story has to dominate and the technically perfect version may be very dull.

The booing really annoys me - but apparently, the audience are told by the studio manager to "let their feelings be heard if they disagree with the judges".
I don't think it adds anything to the show at all.
