It looked very much like a tantrum to me.
You led a sheltered life perhaps.

Actually, I thought Brendan has been pretty restrained of late. He used to answer back all the time. He had every right to be peed off. Sophie's dance was mesmerising. imo.

It's a competition. Not everybody loves you. You did your best now shut up and get off. Also plaster a smile on your face and remember your bank balance

Brendan was a judge on the New Zealand Strictly so I think he thinks he's entitled to chip in when the critiques are not to his liking. Whilst I agree with what he said I don't think he picked the right time to do it!

I have been amazed at the fact that Brendan has remained calm over the last few weeks. Last week his Quick Step was fantastic and greatly under-marked by the judges. This week the Rumba was quite beautiful, I felt their chemistry here in Bonn and the judges were highly critical and told him that the chemistry was lacking. I agree with him. Why do we Need smut on the Dance floor. It was romantic and beautiful. I am tired of this constant selling of sex on TV, half naked men and women, ridiculous Outfits etc. It seems smut sells. I get rather bored with Bruno and his sexual jokes. Yes we all know he is gay. OK. No Problem but I hate it when he gets hysterical about the male dancers!! Some of his comments are just not appropriate on a Family Show.

Trouble with Brendan is he'd really like to have a right go but, when he holds back, he comes over all petulant and school-boy.

He was right. It was lovely. He was also wrong. It wasn't a rumba due to Sophie having no hip-sway. Plus he looks like a tw @t when he does his knight-in-shining-armour routine. It's 2013, Brendan. She's 34 as she told you last flippin' week.

Smile, zip it, move on.

It's only a daft show.

I thought his outburst, look of indignation, puffed out chest, trembling bottom lip was worth the licence money.

It's all about opinions and judgement but perhaps Brendan's is not the most impartial view. On a dull night it was up there but I think Brendan felt something mystical that I missed.

Dances dance, judges, however crookedly on this show, judge.

yes, lol

You might love Brendan, but he need to button it,

His opinion, frankly, doesn't matter at this stage.

He's like a spoilt child and I actually quite like him, until he does these silly protests.

I think Sophie need a vodka or two, or something to loosen up a bit.
BIB - funny that because i value his opinion much more than yours

For a professional dancer it must be beyond aggravating when you've spent the entire week rehearsing a dance and the judges are as rude as they were to Sophie and Brendan tonight. Especially when Brendan knew how well she'd performed. I thought It was a perfectly human response. I would've throttled the judges!
Perhaps he needs to watch that performance back, then, because he was obviously so involved in it that he wasn't aware of what Sophie was doing.

ESPIONdansant is quite right - hip action was lacking. Also, Sophie looked extremely self-conscious throughout, with some awkward smiling going on - which rather killed the atmosphere of the dance.

There have been some brilliant rumbas on Strictly - Kara and Artem's, Pamela and James', Cherie and James', Rachel and Vincent's - all of which had an intensity that Sophie and Brendan's just didn't have. Yes, she had some lovely lines - but it looked too careful, and Sophie didn't lose herself to the dance.

You can argue whether or not he was right and/or whether he should have shown any emotion, but in terms of expressing it I think he was pretty restrained. Funny idea of a tantrum some folk have, then again probably if someone they liked did the same it would be considered fair enough.

It wasn't a tantrum but Brendan really should learn to keep it zipped. He did this with Victoria Pendleton when comments and marks didn't go his way.

Sophie is Sophie. I absolutely love her but he cannot bring out of her what isn't there. Some dances suit her demeanour but some do not. It is what it is.

The judges never said they wanted some pole dancing rumba, they just wanted more emotional connection, which has been missing from Sophie most of the series. He isn't helping her with these comments but I do also think her husband is partly to blame as well, his comment in the first training week, and his comment about the rumba, I think she feels uncomfortable being too sexy and intimate.

I agree that it wasn't a tantrum just a bit if venting that slightly embarrassed Sophie. I think he had a good point and it opened up an interesting discussion about the mood a Rumba is attempting to convey.

Well if she won't feel resentful that she can't do better with the judges it's fine.

A "petulant and school-boy" tantrum is an accurate way to describe it ESPIONdansant, I tend to agree with you , as we know a tiger never changes its spots, Brenden will always be the same despite a strong denial from apologists.

Nice to see Craig admitting that Brendan had a valid point. It of course wasn't a tantrum and the pro dancers have every right to answer back.

Even back in the day with Brendan still had tantrum's they didn't last that long as opposed to your 4 year tantrum which shows no sign of abating.

Please Terry, grow up.

This was by no means a tantrum. Brendan was very restrained. The audience clearly disagreed with the judges that the rhumba lacked connection and gave it a standing ovation despite not being scripted to do so.

Personally I think the ones having a tantrum are the ones saying Brendan had one.

I' ve told them a thousand times to stop exaggerating.

I thought he articulated himself well in front of the judges, but stood apart in the Tessanine, gnashing his gums like an old man with something stuck under his dentures was not a good look

I've seen enough childrens' tantrums to know that Brendan did NOT have a tantrum. It was a reasoned argument after Bruno said he wanted raunchy and Brendan said a rumba doesn't need to be about sex. A lot of people have agreed with Brendan. Do all those criticising him for speaking up agree with Bruno then and only want raunchy rumbas?

PS Dictionary definition of raunchy - earthy, vulgar, and often sexually explicit.

I don't quite understand what you are trying to correct here, are you trying to suggest that there is only one in existence?
