I'll watch Natalie and Abbey's performances later with the sound off and let you know.

Abbey & Aljaž - Paso Doble (even better with music muted)

Sophie & Brendan - Rumba (I was touched by her performance)

Ashley & Ola - Waltz (Lovely to see Ashley's progress)

Susanna & Kevin - Cha-Cha (admired her bravery - give some to Sophie)

Patrick & Anya - Viennese Waltz (bit meh, but still stylish)

Natalie & Artem - Tango (another dance ruined by the music but also by strange head movement from Natalie)

Mark & Iveta - Foxtrot (Nice, but felt distinctly seen-it-all-before)

Ben & Kristina - Charleston (would have been terrible for a week one performance. Unforgiveable this many weeks in)

Regarding Abbey - I had the TV on mute in the background, but I caught her dance from the beginning. I thought it was fantastic! I think the music has really ruined it for a lot of people, because I was like wow, this is the dance that shows how much she has improved. I thought she should have been top of the leaderboard, it was technically superior to Susanna's last week.

Of all the 'nice routine/shame about the music' dances we have had this year, I personally think A&A's Paso suffered the most (hoping someone is clever enough to youtube it set to different music).

I particularly liked the finish with a flamenco hand flourish after having thrown her arms up. We see a lot of one or the other, but not the both together like that, it was clever and effective and yes, showed how technically able she is becoming.

1 - Abbie & Aljaz - they have delivered the dances I've enjoyed most the last few weeks and I think Aljaz is doing a great job putting together routines for her. Music though...
2 - Ashley & Ola
3 - Natalie & Artem - music ruined it for me. They need a great week in the worst way because I feel increasingly disconnected from their routines for all their technical superiority.
4 - Patrick & Anya
5 - Sophie & Brendan - I liked the routine, I just don't think she danced it that well. I think that was what the judges should have concentrated on as opposed to the style of rumba it was.
6 - Mark & Iveta - they make me smile, idec.
7 - Susanna & Kevin - awkward all round. My sister came in and suggested that Kevin needed to start dancing around her again to disguise it like he did last week. Hard to disagree.
8 - Ben & Kristina - I want to slap the idiot who choreographed that. He didn't move very well, but this reducing him to the strong man thing undersold him. How could that guy choreograph Sophie's charleston and then that?

This was another tough week of dances to rank, mainly dances 3-5. I thought there were some good dances overall but I had some issues with each dance.

1. Sophie and Brendan
2. Ashley and Ola
3. Abbey and Aljaz
4. Natalie and Artem
5, Patrick and Anya
6. Mark and Iveta
7. Ben and Kristina
8. Susanna and Kevin

I actually had difficulty putting them into order. The only two dances I actually enjoyed were Sophie's rumba and Ashley's waltz. Although I could see good things in the others I can't say I enjoyed any of them. Strange night.
