Well done Doghouse. This is the post of the decade.

I am quite interested in people's views on the music so I am puzzled why they are several threads on the topic - besides this one made in error. It just fragments the discussion.

And looking at the front page there are are several discussions on Brendan's comments / outburst and Ben's "dance".

It really would help discussion IMHO if all such threads were merged.

Or better still please don't start a thread if there is a similar topic there already.

Absolutely agree with both of these posts.

It might be good if the music could have a pinned thread as it seems to be a weekly hot topic. I would also suggest that some facts could be posted to it at the head of the post, like who chooses what and why, what constitutes traditional or contemporary, the royalty issue, who controls the balance of the sound etc - a chance to bust some myths rather than having the revolving doors.
