Tonight she was pure horrific. Her Rumba was on par with Pendlemania and Alex Jones for me viewing at home. Don't understand the overwhelming support TBH. Brendan also sulking tonight

If she survives this week I strongly suspect Sophie will win this series and be another underwhelming winner.

What do y'all think???

I think tonight will have done her huge favours. I totally agreed with Brenda and thought that Rumba told a classy story.

The Rumba can tell a classy story if danced well. For me it was slightly awkward and cold. Brendan just keeps making excuses for Sophie. She is declining each week.

She didn't win anything any when. She was just incredibly lucky - or unlucky - to have the Charleston when she had it. I'm not sure what the longest gap to beat a score is... (it was said that Lisa was unable to beat her first dance last year, but she did so with her Foxtrot five weeks afterwards. Well, according to the judges, that is).

Nobody won the show in week 2. The momentum is with Susanna not Sophie. The judges will get rid of Sophie within the next 2 weeks. She can survive next week if Mark is in the dance-off with her but the judges will not save Sophie over any of the other contestants.

That's your interpretation, certainly isn't mine. Tonight was not about excuse making, he was completely frustrated that the Judges couldn't see how unique it was. Great to see, rather than some weeks, no props either, just beautiful artistic dancing telling a story.

Wrong on both accounts.

The only thing worse then an agenda from the judges is an agenda from posters (personally, I would make a happy thread about MY favourite.........but this is perhaps better for some people ).

Is this an appeal to stop people voting for Sophie & Brendan? See, I just don't get the logic.

Personally, I think that Natalie has been severely overmarked the last few weeks (Sophie was even better then her this and last week), but I don't feel in any way compelled to make a thread about it.

I think the momentum seems to be changing every week

Ashley is the one to watch out for next week.

Bill Turnbull never beat his week 1 score and he was on the show for 7 weeks. It was a cha cha. Bizarre.

Agreed. Not a fan personally. But the charleston has won it for her. It will rear its head again when she gets to the final. Personally, I think the winner should be someone that has achieved some accomplishment in Latin and ballroom. Few this year have managed it. Not all dances will suit every dancer. I think technique has been sacrificed for glitz.

Pure horrific? That's a bit hyperbolic!

I thought it was a perfectly respectable Rumba. Not the best ever, but then was anybody expecting it to be? Sophie's strengths are classic Ballroom numbers. This was way out of her comfort zone but I thought she committed emotionally to the dance and I don't believe Victoria or Alex ever produced the sorts of lines Sophie did.

I'm pretty sure Susanna's the front-runner but I hope tonight's performance has done Sophie's chances some good. The past three weeks I think the judges have been harsher on her than others, I hope she doesn't lose heart and become deflated.

The thought of another Brendan Show dance fills me with horror.

I really would not wish to put someone as lovely as Sophie through that ordeal, she does not deserve to get the blind Brendan belief in his own choreography, no matter how awful it is in reality. I wonder how Lisa Snowdon feels every year when SCD rolls round, knowing the Snowdance will do the rounds yet again.

I think her Charleston was terrific for week 2 but unfortunately it seems it used up all her energy and interest.

Since then her dances have been bland and lacklustre. She had a beautiful rumba routine tonight, but danced it as if she really didn't want to bother. I can't help wondering if deep down she would actually be quite happy to be voted out.

I don't think she did commit emotionally to the dance and that was what was missing, nothing to do with the choreography.

She is 7-1 to win if you think she will you could make a lot of Money

I thought that it was dreary and lacklustre, and don't think she stands a chance of being in the finals.

Ouch. LOL

Tell it like it is

I just want to clarify. If you read my posts back weeks ago I was a fan of Sophie and still can be "saved" if she does an outstanding performance next week if she is not eliminated this week. Sophie really needs to improve though or Brendan try even harder, the judges don't have an agenda (At least I don't think they do?!).

I suppose the thread I created is asking if Sophie is poor week on week or average in scores will she win anyway just based on that fantastic Charleston. Still perhaps top dance of the series and should have got 40. Cannot believe Natalie gets 39 and beats Sophie for hers

I would bet on her now. She is in with a very good shot at winning. Even when her dancing sucks she still avoids dance off. When Abbey puts in good performance she is in the dance off so it shows Sophie has mass popularity.

I am starting to wonder if it is Brendan or maybe Sophie. Something is just lacking each week for me.

Ever since Rachel went its like Sophie is going on the same journey as Rachel

Her public support has been grossly underestimated. She is a gay icon, huge on the club scene, massive in Europe (she's had No. 1's in European countries recently, can't remember which ones), and now her support has been STRENGTHENED by what the judges have said tonight.

She wins this easily.

She'll never be in a dance off. Her public support is massive.

I loved that rhumba and Brendan was quite right to question the judges. imo it was woefully undermarked.

Craig's comments when he likes a rhumba or AT is often "Filthy darling - I loved it!" But as Brendan said love doesn't have to be intense filth - it can be tender too and that is what I got from this dance.
