Ah thanks for that, kinda just getting into DW having watched it sporadically over the years.

I say that as, the next we saw of her she was in that space ship that the Doctor, River and Rory think they are rescuing her from.
There is no other point that I can think of that She was taken away from Rory and the Doctor.”

I was taking the Doctor's theory in A Good Man Goes to War that Amy had been taken probably before America, ie, so early in pregnancy Rory the nurse didn't spot any signs.

In night of the doctor, why did the doctor die instead of regenerating? I know he regenerated once witchy people (i'm obviously not an out and out fan) brought him back to life but shouldn't it have happened automatically without the need to be brought back?”

He was killed in the spacecraft crash so didn't have time to do it himself. EvenTime Lords can't stop themselves being killed outright without warning, or in 8's case saying he wasn't going to leave Cass anyway.

For me I thought about it for about 1 second, decided there were a few possibilities of the actual specifics, but didn't need to see it here, and then went on with enjoying a really awesome episode. (which it was ) As to how they 'got out', as someone mentioned, they already liked like they had got out and were in the graveyard again. Although still setting memories etc. like I said there may well be more at Christmas, as they go back there, so have some patience”

I excpected maybe the 50th was an exception to the series storyline's but we had patience, waited for the explanation at christmas and none was forthcoming. Now it's capaldi's time and matt's last one was supposed to be the wrap up ep so I doubt we'll ever get an explanation now. thanks a bunch moffat

Moffat was asked in the DWM interview how Clara and the doctor got out of his time stream at the end of NotD. He said simple, the doctor carried her and went back and out of the time stream. Had Matt not injured his knee badly, he said, they would have showed it better.

They shouldve made a better nod to that then bit at least we kindof know that, as it was the Doctor in his timeline, he could get himself out, so he took Clara out with him!

a) if they had showed this is would have been better but..
b) They made a big deal about clara going in with river and the doctor asserting it was a death sentence effectively, as no way back out

And you guys keep saying Moffat's crap is not complicated, who(no pun intended)has time to work all this stuff out?!!!!Life is far too short...unless you are a timelord of course. I've completely give up on Moffat.

exactly, Im sure their were a lot of moaning thread's about episode's in RTD's time, but I'll bet their weren't even half as many trying to work out what had actually happened in the episodes

When I first saw NotD, I had assumed that the Doctor being lost in his own timestream was going to be the catalyst for the 50th anniversary episode. It made sense as how he'd end up interacting with his past incarnations and provided an opportunity to possibly travel across the Doctor's entire life (which made sense for a big anniversary episode). Consequently, I just assumed the episode ended with the Doc and Clara still stuck in the timestream.

D0tD said otherwise though and it seemed the Doc and Clara were long-gone from the timestream, like it wasn't even something we should be considering. It seemed odd and I - like a lot of people - wondered how the heck they'd got out. But then I went back and watched NotD and some details stood out this time. When Clara is following Matt's voice and finally sees him, you see a big flashy portal close behind Matt. This was obviously representative of a "doorway," he had used to enter his timestream. Then, before they reveal John Hurt's face at trhe end, we see Matt carry Jenna off in the same direction he'd originally come from.

Knowing now that the timestream wasn't relevant to the 50th, I think it becomes a lot clearer that the Doctor simply walked in, guided Clara to the right place by calling to her and then just walked straight back out the timestream.

Not that clear on first viewing, but fairly obvious on a re-watch.

According to Moffat he writes for clever fans who should be able to work these things out for themselves. Duh.

which is really a clever get out... if you don't think it makes sense, you obviously are a bit dumb. Personally I think the emperors clothes are lovely!
