I think that British Soul is particularly strong but perhaps overlooked and overshadowed by American soul?

I love Hil St Soul, they are so underrated it's criminal.

I remember The Real Thing and Maxine Nightingale from the 70s. And The Style Council from the 80s. Gabrielle and Heather Small from the 90s.

Great names here. I loved Mica Paris back in the day - beautiful woman, beautiful voice and loved her 2nd album. If Beyonce released I Should've Known Better everyone would be clamouring over it .
Also loved Soul Family Sensation, Jhelisa, Victoria Wilson James, Diana Brown & Barrie K Sharpe, Soul to Soul, Caron Wheeler, Nu colours, D Influence, Incognito, Sade, Omar, Young Disciples. Probably loads more Ive forgot. Brit Soul was soooo exciting in the 90s!
